  1. OK, np. Did you test stuff with a meter before hooking it up?

Haynes manuals are OK for wiring, but I don't have much experience with them for car stereo..... I like the12volt

Here is the stereo wiring chart from the12volt.com

    2000 Honda Civic Stereo Wiring

    Constant 12V+ Blue/White

    Switched 12V+ Yellow/Red

    Ground Black

    Illumination Red/Black

    Dimmer n/a

    Antenna Driver's Pillar

    Front Speakers 6 1/2" Doors

    Left Front (+) Blue

    Left Front (-) Gray/Black

    Right Front (+) Red/Green

    Right Front (-) Brown/Black

    Rear Speakers 6" x 9" Rear Deck

    Left Rear (+) Blue/Yellow

    Left Rear (-) Gray/White

    Right Rear (+) Red/Yellow

    Right Rear (-) Brown/White

also check ALL of your fuses. Inside acc fuses as well as fuses under the hood because they may have shorted something when they jacked your old stuff and blew a fuse and now the H/U is only getting one of the two powers.....

  2. well i installed my wiring to factory wiring "dumb, but someone stole my shit so i had to".

anyhow i installed everything correctly and re-checked it twice...

my HU will turn on once i hit the display button... show the time.. and shut off about 10 seconds later... it only ejects discs and beep when i push the display button...

    nothing else...

    suggestions ??

What do you mean "installed my wiring to factory wiring"?

You cut the harness and wired to the factory wires directly without a adapter?

more info plz, car, H/U, Pics....

  3. Ive read hertz is expensive.. ive never heard infinity or rockford but i was leanin towards rockford

/edit -- I need good midbass and i keep reading the kappas midbass is lacking while the rf midbass is almost too much

When I put the Kappa 6 1/2 components on display at BBY I had people from every department calling back to tell me to turn down the boom room because I was effin up sales (vero beach old people ftl) no one believed me when I told them I was tuning an amp for a pair of 6 1/2s.......

  4. CDA-9831, CDA-9833 and CDA-9835

all had time correction, media xpander, v-drive 60x4 amp, motorized face, 31, 33 has lcd display 35 has graphic display. I've been looking for them for years, cheapest I found was $180 then last month my friends dad tells me he got an alpine at a garage sale for $15 and needed help installing, I go to their house and its a 9831. i was like WTF!?!?!?!?!. still trying to get him to sell it to me......

  5. I worked at Best Buy once upon a time. I would never work there again though, but it is a job.

    How true, how true.

I installed at the local bby here for a year. Miss working on the cars, that's about it. HATED mgmnt, hated the floor, hated all the jacked up shit that everyone bought(I WANT MY SHIT TO BANG YO, PUT SOME FIRE ON THESE SONY'S AND THIS AMP I GOT AT THE PAWN SHOP YO WITH THIS SWAP MEET WIRE YO!!!!) Loved that discount though.... Kappas for $40 a pair.... P3's for $80..... too bad we didnt have any power series stuff..... Right before I left we started carrying fusion bass packages and power acoustic.... *vomit*

Second system was 2 audiobahn 12's

    then 3

    then 5

    it was such garbage.....

edit: now that I think about it, who the f runs 5 12s?????

  7. Kind of off topic... Someone sent me a long list of "your from LI if" awhile ago. These are some of the ones I liked.

You know you are from Long Island when......

Screw the SAT, you know the exact pronuncuation of Islip, Wantagh, Commack, Mattituck, Shinnecock, Quogue, Ronkonkoma, Hauppauge, Mineola, Islandia, Massapequa, and Patchogue.

You have no idea what jimmies are, or why someone would want to put them on their ice cream

You know the exact point at which Queens turns into Nassau simply on intuition.

You never realize you have an accent till you leave.

The Long Island Expressway isn't really as bad as everybody thinks.

You know that there is a big different between any of the other hamptons, and hampton bays

You went sledding in the sumps.

The first time you heard the term "Long Island Iced Tea" you were somewhere else and you laughed.

Its rare to get really bad bagels or pizza on long island, almost as rare as it is to get good bagels and pizza anywhere else.

When people ask "where are you from?" you answer Long-Guy-Land and automatically assume everyone in the world knows that answer means New York.

You've seen the commercials, and you've craved their shakes, but you know damn well there are no DQ's or Sonics on Long Island.

 Edit: I don't expect anyone from off LI to get any of these.......
