  1. I also have a problem when sitting at a place with truck in drive it seems to drop down 2 13.1 and goes back up and then down etc. And the only thing on is the heat. Plus when starting the truck up in the mornig the alt makes a noise but it only does it once in awhile and when it does its only for a slpit sec.

  2. not saying this is the best for your truck but i heard a dd2512 in a frontier with port firing between the two front seats towards the windshield and it slammed. You just got to play around with it. Im fixing to redo my box because the tuning got thrown way off by the design i came up with. It fit a little tighter than expected, and the port is lets say choked a little. Its all in trial and error. What works in one vehicle may not in another. Just try and have fun with it.

Well thanks for the extra help, going to hook it up tomorrow and if dont like i will try the port in the middle.

  3. tbh, sub up port to the passenger side and box pushed all the way to the driver was one of the loudest to the ear installs i heard using like prefab stuff. Side port could definately do some work in those little cabins.

Iam thinking side port because not enough room to do subs up and port up.

  4. A port on the side of the box will sound great provided you give the port enough room to flow.

The reason a side port works well is that you get a little extra "bump" from the side of the truck pushing back against the port. Some guys swear by the port on the driver's side, but I think you need to play with in you truck a little bit for best results.

  5. I'm sure you're probably sick of these, but I have to post another. I'm looking to get a new HO alternator. I have the stock alt in my 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ w/4.0L I6. I don't know how many amps it puts out, but it's not enough for me. As far as my amps, they are in my sig. If I replace the alt, I will also do the big 3. Now, I don't know what size alt I'll likely need. I also don't really know much about alternator brands, besides people around here use Iraggi and Mechman. I don't want to spend a whole lot on whatever I get. Please point me in the right direction!

I got a quote from Highoutputalternator.com saying they can get me a 200amp alt for $600. That seems like way too much to me. I'd want to spend like half that if I can. I also found a 150 amp alt from Quadratec for $200. It's just a generic brand as far as I know though, so that makes me weary. Plus I don't think it is much bigger then my stock alt, if at all...

I got a 220amp alt from Iraggi Alt for $300 but he was running a special on them. Hit him up.
