Is this a good idea OR BAD IDEAI screwed up and put it in the wrong post. I replaced my stock battery today with a red post and it still does the same thing as my stock battey did. It drops the voltage down to around 12 to 13.5 and at night the light go dim. And i have a stock alt. I need some ides plz. -
Never said it... But since you implied it, sure. They are a rip off. They made the same battery for how many years with no improvements on them.
Why buy old technology when you can buy new technology for the same price or cheaper?

You were right, my red top is no better then my stock batt. I'am returning my red top and upgrading my alt putting stock batt back in. No room inside vehicle for a back up batt.

The yellow tops are a little big,so i went with the red top. Iam running 2 12in RE SE subs with a MB QUART DSC 1000.1 amp for subs and a kicker 650.4 amp for highs. So rep top should be fine then?
I was reading up on the yellow and red top batt, so would the rep top be fine for doing the db drag's,or should i return the red and get the yellow. With what i have in my truck system.

So I've had this car for years. Literally. Been working on it off and on, and driving it off and on. I'm currently building a 350 SBC for it. Already have the Comp Cams valvetrain(268H cam, 1.5 roller rockers etc etc) dual plane intake, 650CFM carb, 1800 RPM torque converter, hedman headers w/ true dual 2.5 inch exhaust. Probably going to be adding a V-Matic Hurst slap shifter and replace the Sunpro gauges with AutoMeter SportComp 2 5/8" units.

Well those pics above are from February of '08. I drove it like that for about 8 months until I was being a "showoff" and going about 130ish for a couple minutes and broke a ring on the #5 cylinder. I parked it from October '08 until about two months ago when I moved it to my in-laws garage to start the tear down.. again.
The first time it ran in almost a year... All I had to do was charge the battery and put a lil gas in the carburetor

Got bored and tinted the windows 5%. IDK if I like it.
Building a center console. IDK if I really like it. I didn't want to do anything out of 'glass but now I'm rethinking that. We'll see once I get the shifter in.
Well as it sits now I just need to take out two transmission bolts, and remove the radiator to get it out but I'm having trouble getting anyone to come assist with muscling the hoist around and take the engine out with me but hopefully it will be out and at the machine shop before I leave for Las Vegas next Saturday.

If your buying a optima new, your best idea is to not buy optima at all.
Go straight for a powermaster battery that will fit your car.

the yellow top is better at holding a deep reserve of power best for car audio
I do have a system in my truck so should i replace my stock with a red or yellow top.

Get something over 130amps. I have a 100amp alt and it isnt big enough, so i went with a 220 amp alt
