    Someday people will understand the enclosure is much more important then the sub being used. Just because 1 company is "mainstream" and the other is "internet based" doesn't make one better or worse. Personally I could give a shit less if I can call the owner, as long as I am taken care of it doesn't matter to me.

    i gain a 8db gain just from changing my enclosure..

    well from 131.x to a 139.xx

    what year merlin is it. if the one with brushed look and black sides fets are under the board if one with plexi cover they are on the long sides of the board

    the one with the plexi??

    so i grab a dmm and do wat? where can i get one??? cheapest???

    or is there someone in fresno that is willin to offer the service?? haha

    This was happening to my buddies amp a while back (cannot remember what kind of amp) But we ended up taking off the top piece and looking at it on the inside where the fuses connect from the outside, and the terminal was lose on the inside, so we tightened it back up really quick, and it worked fine and didn't blow anymore fuses

    so is there hope im getting my dc tmrw???!?!?

    i would really like to have an amp to [pwer them:D

    so what makes the humming sound??

    sounds like something definatly shorted out in it.

    is it under warranty? if not, pop the bottom open and take a quick look, sometimes you get lucky and can see/fix the problem with relative ease.

    yeah its not under warrenty...

    well i see nothing wrong with it at all?:!?!

    but then again i wouldnt know..

    i really hope that its something real easy:D

    Today is not a good day. i got my remote gain yesterday i installed it today.. also The plan was to finally have my subs back. i got my DC's back from rusty. and was happy to slap once again...

    i opened the box and one was broken:( i called rusty and he is so nice... but

    that's another story.

    i was hooking up one of the dcs to see if it works and i heard a hum it then everything turn off.. not the car but my amps and the music....

    so i check the fuse in the front and its blown. i replace it and then my rf250.2 turns on. but not the merlin??

    i took out the merlin and seen the fuses are blown.. so i replace them....

    and then when i hooked it up again.. i heard the hum again and the fuses on the merlin blow!!

    so i replace the fuses and i disconnect the power from the rf 250.2

    i connect the positive in the merlin and nothin. so then i put the negative. a few sparks.....

    then when i put the remote back on.. the amp starts to humm real loud.. but i just take the remote out before it blows the fuses...

    so yeah is it blown?

    i hooked up my rf 250.2 and it seems fine..

    i check my ground and nothing....

    i even but another cheap-o amp and that works???

    any help would be appreciate

    btw my system is

    2 12's level 4 powered by merlin md 3d

    hertz comps powered by the rf 250.2

    and a stinger sp1500d in the front..

    thats exactly what im doing, im ordering an AQ1200d tonight actually just put the money in my account im stoked, i was only running one type r before im so excited to hear the difference.

    just ordered my AQ1200d and i highly recommend getting one now they just dropped the price 20 dollars so now its 229 SHIPPED

    Oh i see... Well I'd suggest comparing prices from what DC charges to recone your sub(remember you're gonna have to pay to ship 2 heavy woofers also) and what Dave will charge you to do so. Or if u have anyone local to you who does know how to recone subs, you could toss them a couple bucks and just order recones from DC(much cheaper and only have to wait for shipping of the recones). If you're planning on running 1500w or less per sub then just get the normal LVL4 recones in whatever coil config you want.

    'what is a good price to be charged for a recone???

    I live in ffresno CA.

    Dave has been a member on different forums for years and does custom recones/subs... His quality is top notch, great CS, and good prices also.     Also i know the single sub is wired to 1 ohm, but when u had both of them in what were they wired to?

    i never played them both at the same time... it was first 1 12 in one box. and by the time i got the second one i ripped the tinsil leads.... and i already had the box done..

    I have no idea, I'm guessing for a fee he could add sum extra spiders, different coil, different dust cap, etc... I don't see much else that he could do.

    If i were you I'd just get a regular recone for them since you're planning on getting them D1s... What coils are they currently and what ohm are they wire to??

    well the yare both dual 2ohm

    they are both in the box but only one is doin all the work...

    so just send them in and get them reconed ?? correct?

    Regarding what though?? Strictly a recone to keep a 12 or have it rebuilt as a different size woofer?? If and when u do get the recone regardless of size, I'd ask for a LVL5 coil.

    What amp are u gonna have powering the subs??

    yeah i have 2 level 4 12s dual 2 ohm...

    but only one is workin due too ripped tinsel leads....

    the one that is workin is hookd up to merlin md3d

    if i get a recone what other options would u suggest i get..including the lv5 coils and making them dual 1 ohm...

    so i can wire it down to 1 ohm to the merlin
