Why not a sa10 maybe
I already have that thing in mind, however client doesnt want to extend budget.

A customer has a budget of £--- for sub. both of them woofers are price the same. difference in brand and size. My customer is lookin for loud musical bass for daily driving non competion. Space is not an issue among them 2. It will be powered by 750W.
I want to ask which will you buy for the same money thinking its better than the other.
thanks!

how the hell did you do that?
OMG! level 3s on 4k...
-
made a quick video of it today
Damm! thats a lot of air space you got there. sub takes it like nothing..
how much power in it?
-
Congrats! & Goodluck on the build
I know how it feels like!
-
Keep it up rusty! More power :hairtrick:
-
It will be fine tune it up properly (oscope/dmm). with a clean signal. some folks feed it 3kw.
if its me a clean 2kw its enough for my daily...
-
Thats cool Rusty, You deserve it from putting the time & effort into designing, and im sure to say, most probably making your dream come true which I congradulate you on.
As and when I have some time off of work, Ill try and get a written review up on the go with some figures to prove differences.
The car is completely deadened, and they still make jello of my car! I need to upgrade the alt, as today after 30mins of booming, voltage dropped below 12v which I want to keep it a constant 14.4 - 13.8v to go with a nice new 2k amp to power them.
After a lot of requests, I have made a video - Keeping in mind these are still not fully loosened nor on full power! Didnt get a lot of wiper flex like before, as the motor bolts have vibrated loose again !
Enjoy folks!
Nice flex mate. hope you sorted out your voltage problems & shoot another video...

remove the backseat .
Yeah! expect divorce papers the day after

i would get the XL they are amazing woofers. And i would shoot for an 18"
if i only had space for an 18' in honda civic hatchback.

I am still going with the 2 level 3 12's. it will be louder on the same power. Especially if you do not want to upgrade right away. But I only base my opinion on my experience with both subs. Cost to output ratio will be higher with the level 3's. I do not think you will be disappointed with level 3's.
I see thats what Im taking into consideration aswell. they are rated at 600W each they definitely slam well on 1500W.
also 2 LVL 3 12s is equivalent to 1 LVL 4XL 15 in price here in my place.
-
Im saying, with the XL, you have room to upgrade to another XL and 1500 down the road... but for right now, the 2 lvl 4s will be louder i think
Thanks for your response man!
-
i said 2 lvl 4 12s, since their RMS is 1k... and the 1500 will put out almost 2k rms anyways...
So you reckon if I get LVL 4XL 15. It will be louder than 2 LVL3 12s?
-
They are priced the same in my country. I know Sundowns are reliable & no need to ask about its performance.
I am comparing it on something more powerful on specs. I dont know on actual ratings.
has anyone of you used this amp? Powerbass XA3000d.
Which will you buy & why?
Any comments appreciated...

So the 2 LVL3 12's are louder than a single LVL4XL 15 on a SAZ1500D because of cone area?
What about other factors?
Dispacement
Motor force
Xmax
also AFIK more coils to vaporized heat are better...
-
So which is louder 2 LVL 3 12s or 1 LVL 4XL 15 on 1500W?

Hi I am new to this forum & thinking of upgrading to a DC sub. my question is which DC sub will work best for a Sundown 1500D?
I want to use either 2 12's or single 15 I am not after numbers in db. I only want a loud daily groundpounder set up..
Thanks!
Sundown SA-8 or RE Audio SE10
