  1. Ok so I have no prior experience in box design or anything and I was wondering if anyone could get me a box design that would work with these dimensions to work with

    Dimensions are:

the opening of the trunks width is 38"

but the width of the trunk is 50"

    depth of trunk is 28"

    height of trunk is 21"

hes a pic to show how wide the trunk is

  2. It might be the box I will try sealing it later tonight when I get home..when it was outside the box it didn't make the noise nearly as loud as it does when it is in the box...sounds like the cone is hitting something or the coil hitting the magnet idk what it could be lol I've been into car audio for a month now and this happens if it's bottoming out what does that sound like?

  3. it sounds like theres something hitting the cone...i thought it was the leads at first but it seems like its coming from below the voice coil....I wish I had a better video camera then my iPhone or I would take a video....I don't believe the sub is blown how ever I tested it with a DMM and it was fine and nothing was rubbing when I manually depressed the cone to test for a blown coil....any ideas?

  4. The box could be coming apart somewhere? Happened in my buddy's impala a week or so ago. We took it out and pushed around on the box until we found the part that had came lose a few screws and some glue and shes holding up and no noise.

lol i already checked for that

I just have no idea what could be

I know the subs aren't blown, it just seems like the subs are rattling

the subs are facing upwards and only have about 3-4 inches too the top of the trunk could that have something to deal with it

  5. it makes like a noise like its hitting wood or something it's weird and annoying I think the box is just too small because it is just a perfab so I hope thats what it is

it happens when i have the bass turned up too much and too much bass is being played, you now what I mean? or when it plays notes that are really low...idk how to explain it really

please lemme know what you think?

  6. they don't make them for my car so im SOL on the kick panels lol

but thanks for the help man I'klll most likely go with what you suggested

    Dremel tool>metal

If you have a dremel, and a steady hand it takes MAYBE 15 minutes a door to cut a bigger hole. The main thing is to make sure you have clearance with the window down. Even if you are 1/2 inch short on clearance, you can buy/make a spacer.

Don't have much clearance maybe 2.5-3.5 inches to the window...my dremels layin around here somewhere but idk if i want to getthat serious with this car kinda wanna sell it in a few months and upgrade to somethin with more room in the back for more subs which would mean putting the stock speakers in later :tease:

  7. not to change your mind or anything, i would invest the more money and better components in your front end rather then your rear. MB quarts isnt horrible but since they left germany and became a maxxonic owned company they are night and day from what they once were. Hell even the RF powers imo are a better sounding set then them and im not really impressed with those. I feel youd get more for your dollar going the RF route then the MB quarts route

well what 4" components would you recommend...and I cant upgrade the speaker hole in the door because it its cut in metal
