how many watts rms?
-
voted gotta help out the smd members

I am looking for an Fi BL 15" at a reasonable price as well as an amp that can handle 1500 watts rms daily to push it. Maybe a RF 1500bd. Let me know what you got.
-
so if i can find an amp that will do somewhere between 1600 and 2000 rms then i will be able to finish a lot sooner.
-
Just so you know, if your running 2000 rms, that is really not much of a strain on your electrical assuming you have 2 batteries. Dont go buying xs power batts unless you are running 2500 plus.
I have almost 2000 rms total with two cheap batteries and i dont drop below 13 on full tilt, which is good for amps.
thanks as the build progresses i will be posting pics and more threads on some advice but for now it is on hold until i can figure which amp i will need.
-
its a long process so as money comes in i do something else. this build will go on for the next 2 months while i make sure everything is perfect.
-
moved battery to back and build my own box
-
old battery was crap so I threw a marine battery in and it does wonders. but after i take care of everything else i want either kinetik or xs power
-
so i am selling anything that made it a dual setup meaning my box, my other amp, and my other sub.
-
what i want when all is complete is the one sub in a single ported box running about 1600 to 2000 watts to the sub.
-
ok this sounds all kinds of dumb to me... it says 2200w max so you want to run 2000w+. max on these brands usually means thats how much they can take until they fail. some people can run a lot more power than rms to a sub but these people KNOW what they are doing and how to build a box to make the sub handle it. you said you have a dual box, prefab? not going to take 2k.
how did you test you boss amp? you hooked up another amp and it sounded the same so it must do X power? no TL so see if it was any louder? no clamp meter? not even a dmm? doesnt sound like you tested shit.
you can "hear" the amp not giving as much power... maybe what you are hearing is voltage drop? ever test that? maybe your already dropping to 10v, "so lets throw a bigger amp in!" to get 2000+ watts you NEED electrical upgrades, what have you done?
upgraded battery, high powered alt on its way and in process of doing the big 3.
-
Just to help your searching. You could look for a 2 channel amp that does about 800x2 @4 ohm and wire each channel to a voice coil in mono mode.
how many watts rms would that push to the sub? like i said i want somewhere between 1600 to 2000
-
i want the most bang for my buck and in research this amp has looked to be the best.
-
You paying $750 and running dual 0 gauge wire back and upgrading your entire electrical system?
well i have already rerouted battery to the trunk and am already using 0 guage with a 300 amp fuse. no to mention i already have an extra 20 ft of 0 gauge which is no problem to run one more as well as upgrade the big 3 and i already have another 300 amp fuse and fuse holder sitting around. so lets just say i'm prepared

what about audioque AQ3500D.1 that will push 2600 watt at 2 ohm stable. that sounds like my best bet to give this sub its full potential. what do you guys think.
-
but see the boss amp gets to hot and i can hear it not powering to its full potential so i figure if i can get a much better amp then i will have no problem at all. Also I am getting rid of the second sub and dual box so i can just have the one since it is already hurts everyones ears that get in my car. but if anyone knows anyone with a saz-3000d or another 3000 watt amp that will push about 1600 or more wired to 2 ohm then letting me know would be greatly appreciated.
-
Wow if your boss sounded the exact same as the 2500 kicker, then tell me the model umber of that boss amp cause i wanna try it. Im not kidding, sometimes these off brands will surprise you, i have an audiobahn amp that hits the same as my audioque 1200d.
its a discontinued class d riot 2500 watt
-
What about a SAZ-3000D that will push about 1600 at 2 ohm???
-
Not just trying to push this amp since it's what I'm going with but why not a audioque 2200d. Will do 2200rms @1ohm and somewhere around 1000 @2ohm(2ohm is only a guess) your subs are dual 4ohm subs so you can get a 2ohm or 8ohm load out of one and a 1ohm load out of two.
well in that case if i can get it wired down to 2 ohm then i would like to find an amp that will push about 1800 on a 2ohm load. and the reason i know i am get that much is because i tested it on my friends kicker 2500.1 and it was the exact same.
-
1 ohm stable amp for 3000 rms you have lots of options, question is whats your budget?
budget is about 300 so even if i could find an amp that is about 2000 at 2 ohm stable.
-
why would i max at 1000 when with this 2500 watt boss amp i have on it i am pushing about 1800 and it is fine. i just want a more stable more known amp.
-
the subs max out at 2200 so then any advice on a 1 ohm stable 3000 watt amp???
-
but i mean i already one sub hooked up to a piece of crap boss 2500 watt amp and my rear view mirror falls off and it flexs my windshield. so i think i am only going with the one to save trunk space as well as give me more options in the future.
-
i want the most power to the subs. and i figure 2 2000 watt amps, 1 to each sub would be more bang than 1 2000 watt amp to 2 subs
