  1. My "first" car was a hatchback. A 1990 Ford Escort. Belt went on it too, interference motor. Don't know jack about cars and didn't have the money to fix it.

Broke on the way home after buying it.

Wish I could have fixed it, it was nice. And I could have done a nice system in it.

I want a Honda CRX now though.

What do you plan for this? Looks pretty clean for being such an old Honda.

  2. Does he also need an HU also?? or is the $500 just for sub(s)/amp(s)/enclosure/wiring kit...

    15" Alpine Type-R D2($200 approx.) / Audiopipe 1500D@ 1ohm($150 approx.) / Knukoncepts 1/0 wiring kit($75 approx.) / 3.5ft3 @ 34hz, 55in^2 of port.. Wood + screws + glue + sealant($40 approx).

That's prolli the best that you can do for about $500... Truthfully he'll be a good amount louder than you also lol.

He has a headunit which is no fair to me since I don't.

BTW I don't know how to build a box, and he doesn't either. so we are screwed there. I was going to get type R but too many people have them imo.

I'm getting a custom box built, jumping up to 1200 watts, getting a hu, and getting better wire, an amp for my mid high, some comps, and doing the big three. He will only be louder for a little bit. But that's my homie so it's all good.

Thanks Marlo, I think that is pretty good for the money. I'm pretty sure between him and me we can find someone around here who does boxes.

  3. OK, my friend who is waiting for his registration to be reviewed wants to put a system in his car.

    It's a 1998 Toyota Corolla.

It's would be his first system. I'm the only person he knows with subs, and all I can recommend are RE subs and Hifonic amps since that's what I got.

So if anyone can suggest a nice daily set up. Maybe 1 12" or 2 10"?

He doesn't know the budget yet, but let's keep it small.

    Thanks guys.

  4. well im takeing hvac or heating ventilation and air conditioning and was needin a lil help on somethin

i need to write out a resume n was wondering what i should include in it

we had a woman come to the class to help us out but she dont make any damn sence n shes nit picky but my teacher aint

i got half of it done already but i unno what all i need to change on it to get it to work

im not lookin for someone to do it for me by all means, i just need a lil help, my teacher is cool n what knot so anything is cool wit him

but i wanna make it look profesional n what knot

What are you trying to get into? Residential or commercial?

  5. depends on what amp you get

Merlin line if it stays working then its a decent amp

my ax3000de i loved it but it was real pricey

an xt model i wouldnt wish on my worse enemy

pricing is another issue, if you can get them cheap get them but as for service sometimes they are decent about getting back to you and others you get no response ever and are just left sitting there with product that doesnt work.

for the money of a authorized USamp you can get a better amp with better support from the company who made it :)

Ah I see. So what would be a better amp for 2 12" RE SE subs? I'm willing to do more than the rms.

And what would be a good amp for...let's say, 2 rear deck speakers, 2 6.5 speakers, and 4 tweets?

  6. If you absolutely have to do so them add at least an extra layer of MDF to where it will be mounted, plus add rubber washers and make sure your enclosure is braced very well so it doesn't vibrate much to begin with. Why don't u just make a simple amp rack just to hold it in place??

Yeah, I actually just decided to build a rack or something like it. But doesn't the rack have to be attached to something as well. I'm pretty sure the whole thing will move.

  7. A thousand people will tell you this, but here it is. Screwing an amp directly to the box with no sort of bushing/dampener between it and the box will definitely shorten the lifespan of the amp. The vibrations caused by the subs can crack apart the internals of the amp over time. Like for instance it can deteriorate solder points and cause resistors etc. to fall off the board. I would recommend fastening the amp to the floor or another surface.

    That's what I thought.

It doesn't really have to go on the box. I have the space where it's at now. I just wanted it to look neater.

I can probably get some rubber bushings though.

  8. you can't bridge a mono amp bro ^^^^

they two positives are internally connected

and the two negatives are internally connected

you can hook up the positive to either one of the positives and you can hook up the negative to either one

it just has 2 for both for ease of wiring, most mono amps are like this

I have the same amp, and from what i got from the manual was that you should use the + and - on the right.

  9. A Scosche SLC4 High Level Line Converter (so I can use my stock radio for now) this is the one

cant help u on this one im not familiar with that product...

    :)

    Line out converter (LOC)

I actually don't think anybody else makes them.

I use one, and I know a lot of people that do too.

They are nice because you can set the gain on them. And they are easy to wire up.

I heard it will steal some of the signal, so a HU would be good sometime down the road.

But since I've never heard my subs played through an aftermarket HU, I'm good.
