  3. yes you are correct.itll act the same was as if you just ran the amp remote leads directly to the amps however,it allows you to use the amp remote lead wire to power multiple amps without harming anything in the head unit. once the hiead unit is powered on (when car is started) power that is sent through the wire will energize the relay and the power from the battery will go to the amps, instead of power from the head unit. the remote wires are rated anywhere from 250ma-500ma, 3 amps will consume that much, and may draw to much current, damaging the REM output circuit , which may cause the HU to no longer have any output from the remote lead. are the words remote lead starting to sound stupid to you because they are to me, god damn, anyways. you may not be running 3 or more amps but you may run a processor or equalizer or crossover which all use the remote. even if your not using those its still a good idea to run a relay just to be safe, then its done and you don't have to worry about it if you decide to put any more amps/processors or what haveyou.

sorry i just re read your post and all that i said may not have been needed, cause i think you get it. but dammit i wrote it so its being posted

I got it now, I will go ahead and run one, I guess ill just get power straight from the terminal, and rum a small gauge next to my 0 gauge I only plan to run 2 but nothing else will go in this car but who knows the next one I might so good to already have the stuff on hand. Ok so tonight I'm gonna do a write up of individual products amd get opion on those but other tjen that, can u just get a relay anywhere ? And only 5-6 pin will work?

  4. you need a relay so you don't burn up the remote lead on you HU. its basically a switch with the remote lead being the trigger and power from the battery supplying the juice to the remotes on the amp. when you turn on your HU it'll trigger the "switch" in the relay causing the power from the 12v connection to go through to the amps remote.

get a 5 pin remote and wire it:

pin 30 to a 12v connection (battery)fuse it around 5 amps or lower.

pin 85 to the decks remote lead

    pin 86 to ground

pin 87 output to amp remotes

    pin 87a is not used

    accessoryrelaywiring.png

relay pins are marked so that makes it easier. better to be safe than sorry, don't want to burn anything up on your head unit.

and as the the ohm load on your amp. how many subs do you wanna run? if you wanna run 2 at 1 ohm get some dual 4 ohm subs and run coils and subs in parallel, if you wanna run one at 1 ohm get a dual 2 ohm and run the voice coils in parallel

dont mean to confuse just wanting to help.

Oh no belive me ur helping. Thats exactly what this thread was for im all about do it once, the right way never do again. so instead of running remote off the headunit splitting it into 2 remotes towards the back of the car, i run a relay bassicaly by the amps and it allows me to control both off 1 remote?

  5. So my name is Andrew i'm a longtime lurker first or second time poster i lost track.

so its came time where a have money to paint my car (rattle can) and a audio system, The car is a 1993 ford mustang hatchback lx.

so ive got a budget for the audio system of about 1300 bucks, And i need everything but mids-highs.

I have a set of 6.5 Memphis pr and 5.7 of the same front and rear.

so ive never bought serious stuff off line but i'm thinking about trying to buy this whole system from amazon, Ive been to several local shops getting estimate for the parts, I will install myself, so far i'm at 1300-1600 for parts at a local shop and thats lo class kicker, (nothing wrong with kicker).amps. and i built the same build only thing different is amps, box, tweeters, for 300 less on amazon.

link to cart here >>http://www.amazon.com/gp/cart/view.html/ref=gno_cart << idk if yal can see that if not i will post individual.

So my questions are coming now, lol

    1. Does anyone have any positive/negative comments on that build?

    2. If i buy a 1ohm amp and run it at 1ohm do i need 1ohm sub and mids highs?

    3. I also need a good multi amp install kit, does anyone have a suggestion?

    4. (bass knob) since i listen to a variety of music some sounds good with bass some doesn't, so i want to run one, Is that a good idea?

Im sure others will come as i go but thats it for now, Thank you all in advance this is a wonderful knowledge sight and just all great people.

I look forward to your help.

  6. there is prolly a brown cord you need to put that to ground cord that will let dvds be able to play if there isnt a brown cord find the brake wire and ground it to the ground wire thats what i did for my kennwood but as of for pixely thats how its gona be bud they edit the pics so it looks how they want it to its like watching a mcdonalds commercial they make the burger perfict to draw attetion but the real thing isnt close to that.

Ok so i can deal with the no dvd, but theres one thing ur still not getting, look at the previous color pic, then look at my pic its color then mines black and white, its a full color headunit, and this pic im about to post is what my menu looks like u can compare the 2 pics to see what there suppose to look like,79027c70.jpg

  7. Sorry if im giving confusion but its not suppose to look like this its suppose to be a crisp display not all blocky and its suppose to have a menu display of bubbles like the pic shown, when i go to the menu i get a blank screen BLACK, but the buttons are still in the background blacked out cause i can hit one and it will say things such as no disc or no sd, so im wanting the correct display bubbles and being able to play dvds lol :noob: i hope its fixable i emailed soundstream but the phone number says there not open even tho its well within hours my time,

And its hooked up in my house not in car just sold eclipse,

  9. Hi Peeps my name is andrew, and i recently bought a 500$ deal off my local craiglist great to 2 rockford p1 12'S 2 500 watt punch amps and a soundstream double din, all for 500 :)was not anything wrong with whole system bought from a USMC MARINE, But my problem is with the doulble din, it worked fine when i left, i have it hooked up in my house right now, but it shows a screen in a very un pixelated form, not bubbles like i see on soundstream website and wont play dvds, either? anyone know how i can get in touch with someone at soundstream?? :/2d67b291.jpg
