  1. i saw a guy in supper street no wall he had the same two DC level 5s 18' that i have two alts like me and he is one of the best evey year if not the best. he was using two stetsom 14kds the 16 volt type. super street nw looks like a lot of fun but i did not have the amps to keep up i was doing good to hit 150 db with my 39hrz box tune and 3000 wats. i am wanting to try again but this time with boxes tuned to around the high 70s / low 80s. i drove the van to the drags yesterday 150 miles one way but if i go with two big amps and 10 or 15 batteries it might limit me to the shows that are closer to home. any way you guys know of to cut the weight down and are the stetsoms my best or only option? i dont realy want to trailer the van.

  2. so did you guys have fun?

i think we did there were over 50 cars entered so it was a long day. i ended up parked next to 2 team DC players one was Ron Gooding jr. the team DC guys gave me a lot of tips for next time. I got to talk with bigpimpin91 he was real cool. I was not sure what to do so the judge put me in super street no wall db drag. i had a hard time getting started playing because my ipod or my fingers kept screwing up. i am going to have to figure out what class i want to be in from here on out. super street no wall was fun but i need to come at it with 10 times more power if thats what i am going to do. i only had 3000 watts i should have 30 000 to 40 000 for that class. i did a 145.6 with 3000 watts and i lost the first 7 or 8 seconds of both runs. i lost to a world champ Ron Gooding who has 2 DC level 5s 18' like me but he has the power to make them bump. i think i will do some research and try to find a class that isnt allready being dominated by DC if there is one and try to make it my thing.

  3. yeah if they were not sold out id get one i think ill go with the 1 3500 for now unless i can find some good deal on 2 of them

with dual 1s you could get two audiopipes 3000d about $300 each shiped from ebay. those amps have two sets of 1ohm speaker outs on each amp so that way you could run all four VCs @1ohm they are ok amps they will do rated power which will give you around 6k total for around $600. just another idea for ya

  4. lvl5 15"s it looks like

they are level 5s 18" and i do plan to get two more from rusty i have been waiting on some amps but i might just get a few more of the audiopipes. i need to do some testing on the audiopipes to see what happens when i bridge them at 1ohm i have heard they will go into protect and i have heard that they wont if you have enough power i got the power with two ho alts and batteries but it is cold here in ohio and dont want to spend the time to test the pipes yet

  5. I took my van in for ball joints and an alignment today. The shop I went to specializes in exotics like my old SL 500. They did the whole job in an hour and a half including my bill. The shop owner is into car audio and wanted to know if I could let him check out the DC level 5s and I said sure. By the time he finished playing with the DCs he had every mechanic and customer in the shop standing beside the van with big smiles on their faces.

  6. i am new to audio compitition i will be hitting comps in and around ohio, ind, and maybe as far away as high point nc this spring i have a full size ford van with two ho alts and i am realizing thats not enough alternator for what i want to do i am curently runing to level 5 18s soon to be 4 level 5s. should i use more alternators and more batteries or should i go with just more batteries like ten batteries and the 2 alts that i already have. i have seen some people using four and some with eight alts but i am not going for a world record or anything like that i just want to be able to compete with the big boys. so what way do i need to go

another question i have been wondering about is what do people do with the inside roof area of a van to stiffen it. dynamat is not making it stiff it is deadening the vibrations but the roof is still bouncing around like its made of rubber i was thinking about welding a bunch of 1/4" plates and or fiberglass?
