  1. Its the hifonics man i had a 1610d hated it youd be better off with a aq 1200. 5$a foot!?!! You can buy that shit at walmart for like 10$. And you can buy wire straight from knukonceptz for under 3$ a foot. But for a hifonics 1600 1 good bat and the big 3 will be plenty thats what i had in my acura with a stock alt never dropped past 13.9 shit i have a aq 2200 now and RARELY get down to 13.2. Ps never go to a shop unless your ready to pull your pants down and take it. Remember to bring lube.

    Hahaha

Should I get an xs or just be alright with an optima?

a yellow top ever start battery would be fine. they have them at walmart

  2. Knu or scoshe? Scoshe should not be in that sentence lol but you can pick up some welding wire and terminals on ebay pretty damn cheap. And what kinda 1600 watt amp you could prolly do without a second batt just have a good one up front.

And scosche is the $5 dollar per foot plus tax one lol, hifonics 1600 powering 2 re se 10" , for some reason since I installed new components the bass isn't hitting as hard and it's kindA flat.. So that's why I m thinking about the extra battery in the back

search ebay for the seller- coppercableman

he has great wire for the cheap.

optima battery from costco, or even the biggest yellow everstart battery from walmart would make a big difference.

ring termals they sell cheap at ace hardware.

also look up the big 3 thats what you need to do in 1/0 gauge

  3. Looking for small battery to put in back of seat to help me power 1600 watts, and 10' of 0 gauge wire Of knu or scosche preferred, to upgrade and maybe 3-5 terminals

    Thanks

wire can be had at any local welding shop, ring terminals can be bought at ace hardware,as for a battery i would just get a optima yellow top from costco, there return policy is forever

  4. BUY YOUR WIRE HERE!!! CLICKY. I'd run 1 strand of 1/0 gauge>300A fuse>Dist block>4 gauge>150A fuse> amp. That 4 gauge is reccommended at 140a for a reason. Sure you can run more than that, but it'll be funny once you burn right through the jacket and short on your chassis :)

i hooked up my friends chevycaprice with the 135A ex cop car alt,big 3,extra batt in the trunk and 4gauge power wire with 150A

anl fuses,2 fosgate 800a2 amps and a cheap orange powerbank amp. we had a cap installed and it says around

    200amps somtimes.

i believe it because it has a optima in the trunk and a auto zone yelow top batter under the hood the fuse

    hasnt blew yet?

  5. use 2 gauge or 1/0 for the main run, or you will overpower the wire.

Thanks Jay, I recommended 1/0 to him as I have never readily seen 2 gauge for sale.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Rockford-Fosgate-CP2POS-2-Gauge-Amp-Kit-1800W-RMS-/380161907719?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item58836a5c07

ebay, rockford fosgate 2gauge,good wire have it and had their 4gauge of it before, thick jacket flexible

The 2gauge can handle max a 250A anl fuse but with the 2gauge kit get a 200A anl fuse so replace the 100A

anl fuse it comes with on the kit,run 2 4gauge wires 2 the amp with the best amp fuse around there amp size.

i have this wire currently and 4gauge wire the 2gauge is like 1/0, 4gauge wouldnt be bad thow about 20.00 cheaper

  6. I have a few questions based on a video I watched about car audio, specifically amps and subs.

    1. I heard that the smaller the car the smaller the sub should be. For example, a 15 in a Honda CRX wouldn’t sound as good as a 10. I heard the sound wave needs time to travel. Is this true?

    2. I know prefabed boxes get a bad rap. I know ported are bad to get pre fabed since it needs to be built to the subs specs. But I heard prefabed sealed boxes aren’t so bad. At least as long as it have enough power. True?

    3. This question is rly basic. I’ve heard that it’s better to over power a sub than to under power it. I also heard its good to get a little more RMS power than the sub is rated at. But how much more? Can you match up, for example. A 700watt RMS amp with a 500Watt RMS sub as long as you keep the gains down. Can you run this reliably?

nope not true 10s sound more punchier in pre fab boxes and 15s sound more boomy forom further away

some pre fab sealed boxes are okay if they are caulked up to prevent air leakage

it depends but usally dont over power a sub even with gains down if you have to ask the quistion
