Follow the outer circle until the flare is completed.

  2. I didnt think that this fit in the Sketchup Bordom Thread, so i put it here.

The tutorial i saw for flared ports was ok, but didnt do what i wanted it to do, so i did some research, and now im posting a step by step (so that even a noob could do) tutorial on how to do flared ports.

First, start with a circle (mine was 10")

    Picture3.png

Then another smaller circle from the center (5" for mine)(to snap to the center hover over an endpoint in the circle and then move to the center)

    Picture4.png

Raise the inner circle (6") (push/pull tool)

(I seem to have lost the picture and dont feel like making another)

Delete all the surfaces (the parts that are colored) so that you only have a wireframe (select tool)

    Picture6.png

Draw the diameter with the line tool of the larger circle

    Picture7.png

Draw a line from where the diameter of the larger circle intersects with the lower small circle to the top small circle

    Picture8.png

Make an arc from the intersection of the diameter and the edge of the outer circle to the intercetion of the line we just made with the top small circle

    Picture9.png

Delete the surfaces, except for the arc

    Picture10.png

This part is more in detail

    Select the follow me tool
