  1. Whoa.... You got plenty of room bro! Build a box all the way across the back wall, more airspace than you got and make an amp rack either under the seats or floating above the box. You can get a D1 OR D2 Q or BL and throw 1,000- 1,500 watts (1,000 = Q, 1,500 = BL) If you go with D1, you can grab a Maxsonics Maxlink and strap two memphis 500s to the Q @ 1 ohm. You'd be probably just a tad over 1,000 watts and sounding good.

true that. ill take some measurements today and see what i have to work with. i'd like to keep the same shape as the box i have now but place the sub in the center (forward) and port up. so i can lean my seat back all the way without the sub slapping the back of the seat frame. when i get all my measurements, if anyone would be kind enough to help with a box design that would be sweet. ( i'd send a money order to compensate for their time of course) would it be okay to have the sub center forward with port up ontop of it? or should i point the port forward or towards the passenger side like it is now?

again thanks for all the help

They are different for sure, but I wouldn't throw down on essentially the same sub. It would be better to get something that would handle 1500 RMS like a BL- If you're willing to sacrifice that much cab space.

ya im 6'2" so i really dont want to sacrafice any more room than i already have

  3. if u do get a bigger amp u'll probly need to upgrade to ur power wire to 0gauge IMO.

Yea ill deffinatly do that. my local car audio guy wanted way too much for the 0gauge wire and terminals so i stuck to 4ga cause i had a bunch of it lying around.

theres nothing wrong with what i have now imo, except my lights dim if i turn it past 35

i just want something louder, and hits lower notes.

ray u suggested a new box. are you fimiliar with probox? do you think i have too much diplacement for that sub?

  4. just want to introduce myself first. names david im 20 years old been watching the forums for awhile bla bla bla.. i have a 2008 dodge ram single cab

16 mcd500 1 re se 10" in ported prefab probox

16 mca1600 6x9 coax in doors 6.5 coax in boxes above sub box

    pioneer radio

    big 3

    all 4ga wiring

i have no idea what the displacement of the box is. max ported for the sub is 1.5cf

i can post some pics of my box if needed. i remember when i bought it the seller said the max mounting depth for the box is 7"

so my question is, would you upgrade the sub amp? please make some suggestions on amps if any, get a fi ssd 10" and upgrade the amp later,

or make a new box for either?

    any input appriciated
