  1. Dimensions!!!

just putting the box where the rear seats were will most likely make is quite a bit quieter, just to let you know. we need pics of this box you have .. plus how it's gonna sit in the car.. and the direction the port and sub will fire (up, back, forward, etc.)

and ditch the capacitor...useless....compeletly useless..get 2 good batteries. for 2k RMS (rounding to be safe) you could do an XS Power D3100 up front and then a smaller batt in the back. also you need to do the big 3, it's mandatory.. and the HO alt plus those batteries will make your whole system rock solid voltage wise and you'll be safe...

you mentioned it "cutting out" what exactly do you mean? like the amp is shutting off? that's scary... sounds like a baby alt + baby power wire + baby battery + crappy ground.

as far as amps.. those subs are all SVC 4 ohms... so paralleled they would be at 1 ohm... the KAC-9104D is 1 ohm stable.. but only puts out 900rms at 1 ohm. so each sub would see 225w... and they're rated at 400 rms... so an amp upgrade is kind of necessary. i'd recommend the audioque 2200d... might be a little overkill for you.. but you could pick one up used. theyre $389 new and do 2200wrms @ 1 ohm. you could turn the gain down and have a super-clean signal to your subs... at 400wrms to each woofer.

are you stuck on using those exact subs?

and 4 12's in a accord.. you better draw on your creativity. i like the idea of a false floor though.

    do the seats fold down?

and sorry for all the questions... i'm just trying to get you the best you can get.

    hit me back!

  2. I suppose one 15 wouldn't be out of the question, though.

Aren't two 12s theoretically louder than one 15?

    ]

yeah.... in Derrick's cone area thread (stickied in the subwoofer\enclosure section) it shows you exactly that.

depends on the woofer and power applied though.

if you were talking like... 2 walmart pioneer 12s off of 300wrms vs. 1 Fi BTL 15 off of 2000wrms... yeah, the 15 will be louder. but that's a little too obvious, isn't it?

  3. yeah, i'd recommend 4 gauge for the big three and a 4 gauge run to the back battery, and a 4 gauge ground to the frame.

knukoncepts has cheap and good 4 gauge wiring, and terminals can be had for mad cheap on ebay.

everyone solders their 1\0 gauge but i do it for all my terminals, and i'd recommend it to you to.

you can follow the 1\0 tutorial that's stickied in this forum.

if you can, drill through the floor of your truck and grind or clean a part of the frame, and ground the battery to that.

make sure you put a rubber grommet on the opening where the wire comes through, though.

run at least 8 gauge from the rear battery to the amp but i'd do 4 ... it's not like 8 feet of 4 gauge is that much more than 8 feet of 4 gauge.

running good, solid and clean you should have 0 problems.

make sure you report back and tell us how it went!
