    here's my story:

    when i purchased the subs (used, about 6 months old) and got them hooked up for the first time, they sounded terrible.

    i eventually figured out that BOTH of the dust caps where loose. (once i pulled them off it appeared that there were areas on each one that were NEVER bonded!)

    i called chad (at AA) and left a message, he called back a few minutes later!

    he said he'd prefer that i send them in, but i didn't have the original boxes, didn't want to pay shipping, and didn't want to wait 2 weeks.

    he offered to send me a pair of dust caps and said he'd call me next week to get info on shipping them (it was 5PM friday, so understandable).

    a week went by and i never heard back from him.  i called and left a few messages, as well as a few e-mails.

    a while later he called me, but i missed it and he left a message.  i again tried to get a hold of him, but a few calls/days later and he still wouldn't pick up the phone.

    meanwhile i sent an e-mail to Fi about get a set of their boob style dust caps (cause i like their logo).

    he sent me a black pair and a logo'd pair.  i chose to put on the logo'd pair for cosmetic reasons (not so plain).

    if AA doesn't like it, that's too bad.  it was their poor communication that led to this results.

    if they believe different dust caps will void the warranty, that is just bad customer service.

    i definitely don't think i did anything 'illegal' (in the sense that i could go to jail)

    EDIT: Fi customer service >>>>> AA customer service

    i like AA (i have had assassin's and arsenal's), and look forward to their new lineup coming in 07, but if i were to get a new sub it would definitely be from Fi (they are also coming out with a new sub, btw)

    Hey those arsenals don't mess around!!! you have some good windshield flex man. Good job on the install. The box looks clean. ;D

    Oh and by the way, I notice that when playing music your rear-view mirror is absolutely useless. LOL :nerd:

    got my new amp installed, and i also have a camera that can do video w/sound :)

    unfortunately the sound came out terrible :(  not sure if i did something wrong or if it just doesn't like loud music.

    i also did a little editing w/windows movie maker (first time, pretty easy to use).

    Car: 1999 Accord Sedan

    Subs: Ascendant Audio Arsenal 12's (w/Fi logo dust caps)

    Box: 3.5ft^3 @ 32Hz

    Amp: Power Acoustik A3000DB

    i have two of the 15s on a bxi2006 3.5cu single chambers i love these subs. im real cool with chad. he said that the new havoc will be a monster triple stack magnet crazy he said and the new arsenals will be the same new design. im still gonna get the new arsenals. all of that will be out in two months. wouldnt tell me the names of the new arsenals and havocs tho. my whole truck is ascendant audio minus the amp

    i've been trying to get more info out a member of carstereos.org forums who lives near ascendant and have demo'd the new subs.

    also, pics of your setup!

    so yours are hitting a a 149 on the TL? at what frequency, in what car?

    they look real nice and clean...IDK about the dustcaps, but they are nice looking subs

    hehe, i love the dust caps :)

    i also have a pair of plain black ones, but i wanted the fi logo :)

    i have a PA 3000DB on the way!

    should have it up and running next week.  hopefully vids next weekend.

    i'm thinking of doing a flush mount amp rack on the top of my box this weekend :)  probably won't have time, though.

    But I think they're out of the 10's and 12's for a month or so.

    They are hinting at new subs coming out soon though  :D

    As for the dust caps, you'll have to get a hold of Fi directly (www.ficaraudio.com)

    you can always tell when someone loves their system......they take pictures of their subs from every possible angle, sometimes twice  :D I know, im guilty as hell ;D

    Hehehe, having these things sitting in my living room is killing me  >:(

    I've had no amp for almost three weeks now.  Last week when I got the new dust caps, I just started taking pictures  :^

    Hopefully the amp will be shipped back soon.  :o
