  1. wait mabey i miss read this. after your electrical upgrades are you gonna be running the amp at 4ohms, or 2 ohms?

What I'm reading is he's running 4 ohms... and plans to run 2 ohms... If you've got voltage drop at 4ohms I don't think you need batteries, you just straight up need wiring, big 3, and an alt... My battery is over 6 years old and my dad believes it has/is developing a dead cell and it's a standard starting battery.

    I'm running:

    200Amp alt

    big 3 in monster 1/0

main power run in monster 1/0

4 guage off distribution block to SAE-1000D

8 guage off distribution block to 50x4 Pioneer Premier amp

I run full tilt basically all the time [my system has been set with an o-scope]

Never drop below 13.4 driving and never dropped below 11.9 idle playing anything including "Trap Instrumental" done by decaf which play at 25hz

  2. please call it either a high pass filter or subsonic filter

    It's xplod

<_< Sorry, I just can't stand it when people use the phrase bass blocker or spell sony xplod wrong. lol.

Just 2 pointless pet peeves, sorry :pardon:

    Please look at this.

I know it's xplod. However, the [someone will know] part should have told you I was referring to something else.

(A foolish young kid decided he was going to run his mouth on youtube about his two "explaud" 12's in a prefab box that were in his bedroom.)

    [My funny wasn't funny]

  3. You said your moms door speakers are the Total Mobile Audio speakers, right? Can't you listen to them and see if they sound good?

*Not trying to sound like a douche or anything :D*

i find they have good treble but get absolutely no mid-bass. so idk if its the way the dumb asses at the audio shop installed them a few years ago or if its just the speakers.

What about the headunit? Is it factory? Could have a built in high pass.

I've also found from experience speakers other than subs sound alot better when given the correct power or slightly under power when they are cheaper. My opinoin. I'm using Pioneer 4x6s and 6.5s from wal-mart and I have them on a pioneer amp and I mess with the gain alot.

I also know where it clips because I've set it with an o-scope.

Did they put bass blockers inline with the positive on the speaker? I know best buy does that to cover their ass so you won't blow your speakers by turning the damn bass all the way up and trying to play 32hz through your sony explaud [someone will know] 6x9's that take 200watts.

Sorry if that's kind of blah blah blah like and confusing, but that's exactly what came to mind.

  4. I was wondering if it was possible to wire a 12" Alpine type x to 1ohm? I have been looking around and couldn't find anything about it.

On their site if you look under the other subs it says

    "SWR-1023D

    10" Subwoofer (2Ω + 2Ω) <-- the thing in parenthesis

    Price: $179.95"

If they make a dual 2ohm [2 voice coils each one is rated at 2 ohms] or if you buy (2) dual 4ohm voice coils [2 Voice coils each one is rated at 4ohms.]

  5. You have indeed exposed your newbieness. If you have to ask something like this then putting 6 10's in a car is probably not a good starting point.

    Do you have the subs?

    Do you have the amps?

If you're going to do something like that, you should probably invest in a head unit with an actual subwoofer channel.

Subs and amps are on the way, HU is an old one I had lying around.

Finding a decent HU with a sub channel is pretty hard here in Belgium. I have to go to Germany half the time...

About using 10"... Yeah, I'm trying to make something that looks, sounds and feels great and I've never used 10" subs. I custom make cases for friends and i'm always trying new stuff.

Using a ten inch sub is not what I'm referring to. Why would you use 6 10 inch subs?

I'm surprised no one else has anything to say here...
