Looks good i may have to try a burp box like that one of these day. What's the net cube?
-
What's in that box? And are the welding cable OFC?
-
That alt is too little to supply 3000wattrms on a daily basis. Added more batteries will allow you to run your system longer but without the proper charging system, eventually something will stop working. I would consider an alt upgrade first but thats just me...
-
I've always have great luck with 12-14 sq in per cube on the 15". I don't know if the 12's would be the same.
-
Clipping. They don't know how to set gains. Won't be going back there again. I'm getting my own DD-1 and they can suck it. lol
Thats what i figured. Btl on rated rms wattage should be fine on that enclosure with subsonic filter at around 28hz. But i don't know thefull box spec so cant say it exactly.
-
If your box is tuned to 31 hz, then the sub will unload on frequencies lower than that. At 20 hz for example, your sub will be flopping around without any support in that box and will be making almost no sound.
If you want to play 20's, tune deeper.
But if I set my subsonic to lets say 28hz (with a 31hz box), it will be ok if the sub has a Fs of 38hz?
I would say yes if net volume is appropriate for the power. Americalegand has a good point, but then again thats is just lower frequency reproduction. Power handling is a different variable depending on net volume and port area.

Ya, I had my box made and originally was supposed to be 3.5 cu @ 35hz but they made it 4.1cu @ 31hz. Kinda really pissed me off. And the show also set up my gains to my BTL 15 and blew it. Now I realize if I want it done right, gotta do it all myself.
On what power? I have no experience on btl but have seen they take a beating. If 4.1 cu @ 31 hz blow your sub then either there is clipping signal, way over power, or you're playing way lower than tuning.

seal off those 2 big openings between the sides of the box and the car and it'll be way louder
I wanted to but i wasnt too sure how to go about it so i didnt bother.
you can use trim pieces of mdf, i've never done it before so im not 100% sure how to do it.
Cardboard cutout to test fitment and refine is your friend before cutting any mdf on that one
-
Lol... Same here but i've learn to be patient and make it right the forst time. Unless its a test box
-
If you worry, go with recommended box size. I, on the other hand, like to test its full potential.
-
X2 on that... I've seen pics of the 1.75 and they are beef. Definately diggn what i'm seeing so far

We cant help you if you cant help us getting the info....

Then i would recommend a upgrade batt under the hood. I've ran multiple 1k - 1.5k watts rms in the past and small battery last 6 months without big3.
-
Why you didnt angle cut the top and bottom? Nonetheless, nice work!
-
^^ wat he said. And a good AGM under the hook is reccomemded
-
There are lots of variables that will have an impact on how the sub will behave and produce the lower extension of frequency (below tuning). My experience, subs will have no issue geting down to 25hz (or even lower depend on subs) if correct box tuned to 31hz.
-
Lol, i reread it thrice with no success.
-
With thise equipment, the 90amp alt should be good. Upgrading the big 3 with bigger guage wire and save money for a good battery. HO is require if you're planning on to upgrade. And like others have said, mixing subs is not recommended due to cancellation issue. But it's your system.

i said he could hit up psi?
Ah! It must be a Friday brain fart!... Carry on

I have a old type s 12" :-)
Type s might fit. Try it or search for bolt pattern for the two. Just not a big fan of the type s basket but guess it serves the purpose if fit and you can find parts for it.
-
^^ ?
-
Exactly my point. Great resale value that can help fund new amp.
-
If you can find a 12 or 15 basket for it with the same bolt pattern, just cut the cone/spider out, unscrew bolts and there you have it. Make sure you put tape covering the gap.

Forsale section always have good deal. I would support members in the for sale section here before going out to other organization. Can't find something you like? Post a WTB!
