  1. Hey everyone,

I bought a Hifonics 1610D for my subs after my RF551s fried. I'm curious as to how to run two 12" Single Voice Coil 4ohm subwoofers into a 2ohm load properly given that it's possible. The amp came with wiring diagrams however only for dual voice coil subs. Any suggestions or diagrams that you may have I would greatly appreciate.

    Thanks.

GO TO ROCKFORDFOSGATE.COM AND GO TO THE WIRING DIAGRAM!

THEN YOU CAN TELL THE COMP WHAT YOU HAVE AND IT SHOWS YOU WHAT TO DO!

  2. ok i have to re mx 12'' subs and right now they are in a box that was built in a hurry and does not have proper tuning or anything... the box is 7.2c^ft but we made the ports 28.5'' long 5'' wide 10'' tall. the subs are in the middle of the box with the ports on the outside corners. i was going for a 30hz box but im not sure if this is correct. please feel free to tell me how stupid i am and give me some new ideas. im new at this but i can build just about anything.

    go to re enclosure calculator

  3. When the number are that close, it won't make much difference. But if you have amp draw of 100 and a 300 fuse and the wire shorts, the wire will turn white hot, catch fire and could possibly burn the car to the ground. Thats why you need to check the manufacturers recommended amp rating and get as close to that as possible.

soo im thinkin i should go switch out my fues right now!! hahaha thanks for saving my car

  4. Well the way I understand it is the fuse is a protector. It breaks when you are pulling too many amps. I'm not sure what part catches on fire. So basicly if i'm right the fuse is a safety net

well yea but what happens if your amp is a 130 and you have a 150??

theres no way to go down soo are you pretty much always aking the risk????

  5. ohh, so doing the one long would sound better? i thought having it like the one i did would make the air more active and move around more?.

    idk.

no it would sound the same cuz you would have it tuned to the same hertz! the way you had it before was just a cool and complicated way to do it!

  6. i did, but it didnt have the option to do the 3 ports like i did, so i did my own. it only lets you do that one long one.

you dont neeed all that. my 18 is only half powwered and because my box it built to the right specs it makes all the difference.

and mess around with switching the numbers around in the length, width and depth and you can make just one long one

  7. how many cubes are you at and what tuning freguency how loud is yours , what kinda car.

    i have a 90 cadillac deville.

my box is 4.5 cubes on the inside and 6 on the outside tuned at 35 hertz! its a big car soo it needs a lot of bass to actualy feel it and that box makes all the diference. but if you use up as much of the sapce in your car as possible you can drop the hertz to like 30 if you get the box to 7 or 8 cubes
