i got all the wires ran and the power to the alt is arcing at the alt. it's fused and eveything but it's arcing like crazy down at the alt
-
I have blocks of wood under the 4 corners of the amp, just for air. The rubber is probably a good idea though
-
mechman told me what mine is
-
no
Lol, you always make me laugh!
-
From what I understand, you need to make sure you heat up the whole connector/wire and add solder after heated

if it stops then its time to see if its inducted through the rcas or produced by the headunit...if it still does it then its coming from the amplifier
Well the amp was literally put in this morning, so probably the head unit? i guess it would make sense because it's a rockford from the 90's haha
-
now we are gettin somewhere...unplug the rca from the amp and see if the noise is still there
I'll check in the morning. Let's say it doesn't make the noise anymore. What does that mean. What about it if does?
-
not usually are your rcas close to your power wire? and is this a pioneer H/U?
It's an old Rockford deck and the amp is a punch 400-4, the battery is in the trunk so the rcas and power aren't close.
By the way, i picked up a pair of crossfire bmf 12s in a box today for 70$ good deal? good subs?

Okay thanks man. Does anyone know if it has to do with the ignition power wire and the constant power wire?

There is a high pitched noise that happens/gets louder when the engine speeds up from the components/tweeters. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks

Don't paint the wheels.... IMO the chrome sets the dark color off....
Awesome color choice; and like it's been said..... Never wouldve thought getting rear ended wouldve turned out so awesome
x2. Don't paint the rims, they make that color look even better

I'm pretty sure you need a torch, not a iron.
-
i'm on internet explorer and it's been bad all day. I've been trying and 90% of the time it won't let me get to the forum. i'm sure it will all get fixed soon though

Those bathroom pictures were nasty, the rest of the house could probably be fixed pretty easy though
-
Looks good, what's that black stuff you used in the box
-
Yeah, but for this guy, there can be a exception.
-
I think this has been posted here before, but it's always worth seeing again lol

"So what started the whole thing?"
"It was my Stacy Adams shoes."
lol, damn stacy adams will always get you in a fight

I wouldn't be able to stand having that power wire under my feet like that all the time
-
Yep an LOC would be the best, I suggest a Scosche I have heard no complaints about it and it's fairly cheap ($15 or so on eBay)
I have heard nothing but shit about Scosche, but I could be wrong

this thread is full of win
one guys giving advice based on him never hearing of clarion before
and another guy basing a company on his buddys install (sounds like hes running components on a mono amp)
as for op whats your budget and what are you looking to power with said amp(s)
Sorry, I didn't mean to come off like i was telling him not to go with it, i just didn't know if it was a problem with that am
Shit. lol i didn't even read about the amp, it's not the same one, it just looked like the one he's running to his speakers. sorry, now i feel like a real dumbass
