Brazil vs. Korea vs. "'Merica" Round 1. I call this one "max useable" because all I do is keep turning it up until it stops gaining on the meter. I record the score and the clamp at the loudest point with no regard to clipping or distortion. (3) beefy 3" coil subs in a daily box were used for the testing to keep thermal issues at a minimum.

Every amp saw .66 nominal rising to 2.4. Side note for those who think different amps have different impedance rise... Nope.

Due to the nature of "clamping"... Output numbers are rounded to the nearest 100w.

    - Banda Ice 4000

    -- 2,900 var

    -- 152.1dB

    - Taramps HD4000

    -- 2,900 var

    -- 152.1dB

    -Twisted Sounds 3.5kW

    -- 2,600 var

    -- 151.6dB

    -MMATS 4000

    -- 2,200 var

    -- 151.3dB

Im all sorts of confused here. Which amp is the American? The mmats? Or the twisted sounds? Exact same output from the tar amps and Banda huh? And of course mmats is a full db off and by far the least put. I can't wait til someone starts attempting to discredit that one because we all know they are the best amps ever.

    Was this a tfade test?

The mmats is US made, the thing to remember here is that the mmats is rated at 4k rms @ 1ohm and 13.8v. The Taramps is 4798w rms @ 1ohm and 13.8v, Banda is 4600w rms @ 1ohm and 14.4v. The twisted sounds amp is 3.5k @ 1ohm and 14.4v but come on what 3.5k board had dual inputs and is the size of a 5k? Not discrediting it at all, seems like a solid amp but it makes more than 3.5k. So in my mind the mmats makes the least "rated" wattage, but it still is making it's 2 ohm rated wattage. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Yupp tfade test. Posted to fb 2 hours before I posted this. And I believe the mmats is american made. not sure about twisted sounds. But legit test is legit, especially being tfade. I figured this would release all sorts of chaos here

A good test is a good test, tfade always does us right. I think the results are very in line with what the amps have to offer. Sometimes the normally accepted isn't always the best option.

  2. I'm currently in love with the way my level 4 m1's sound. But far the cleanest sounding sub I have ever owned, however they just don't have the amount of power I am going to throw at them as well as I want them too.

I'm going to be right around 3k rms, give or take 100w rms. My question is, would the m2 take the power a little better as it has better cooling?

How much of a difference is there in cooling performance between the m2 and the m1?

    Thanks!
