  1. I am wondering what SPL im hitting... Is there anyone around Tinley Park IL that could let me stop by and see what I am hitting? Let me know, Sean
  2. I really think you should look into wiring all grounds to each battery instead of to the frame, this could possibly solve your problem if its a older car.
  3. I emailed you last week but I'll post as well... I need a alt that can power 2400 watts RMS 4800 watts max probably 300amp. 2008 Mitsubishi lancer gts (Comes stock with a 120amp)
  4. Are you looking for DIN or Double DIN? Also what is your budget? Personally Im under going a new build and i am looking at getting this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/PIONEER-MVH-P8200-CAR-LCD-MP3-IPHONE-IPOD-VIDEO-PLAYER-/300472534428?pt=Car_Audio_In_Dash_Receivers&hash=item45f58f059c
  5. I'm just looking for prices on the ho alts just in case, it seem like for my car i might not be able to find one V_V.(2008 Lancer GTS comes with 120amp stock) I am going to be getting a Autotek SM4-1000 for my kicker ds650.2s 2 sets (front and back) midbass and highs,I've used the amp to power the same speakers before and its wonderful! So I may need a HO alt, but we'll see. I gotta figure out what gauge wire ill need to run to a distribution block too. Ill have 0 guage on the sax-1200d, and 4 guage on the sm4-1000 so in order to do that and clean what size would i need to run from the battery? Also what is a good CAP brand? Thanks in advance everyone!
  6. I did buy the sax-1200d sundown amp because it was on sale 300 shipped thanks to jacob. Now I need to talk to mechman
  7. Im looking into a High Output alt from Tom over at Ohio Generator I would need 300amp for my 2400 watts (to have no power fluctuation) so Ill get a call back from him later today to see what the damage is!
  8. It doesn't HAVE to be, but to me SQ Sound Quality -Sound quality can be defined as the degree of accuracy with which a device emits the original sound waves across ALL types of music. A sealed encloser will be the best fit in this situation, my personal opinion.
  9. The SQ systems I had were lower end cost but for the money sounded VERY clear and clean. (Im not offended) I want to learn more about car audio (I have a lot to learn) I was looking around and it will be a while before i get everything (i have to buy part by part) but i may go with a different sub... I think maybe the sundown SA 15? As for the amp I still need some help maybe.. I can get a sundown sax-1200d for $300.. Would that amp be enough to take this sub all the way? Also would I need a ho alt with this setup, big cap, or better battery (i can get optima for a good price) with big 3?
  10. No but sealed i believe is best for a SQ system for that tight never missing a beat bass.
  11. Its defiantly not "for the first time". All my other systems were SQ though all sealed, now first time SPL definitely. Im gonna look into those amps though. So I got quoted $300 for the sax-1200D shipped, anyone know of a place of cheaper price?
  12. Like I said I'm not looking to spend that much money. Arnt aq1200 around $350? The Mofo sub is fine for the $150.00 nothing can beat it at that price. As far as the amp goes they are pretty clean, their power is just over rated, 15V i believe.
  13. I have a 08 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS it has the sun and sound package. I put in Kicker ds 650.2 components in so far (front and back)on the stock amp for now. I plan on doing a Power Acoustik Mofo 15" sub in a ported/vented box. Ill need help with the box as i have never built a ported box before, I've only done sealed. I have no idea how to tune ports/vents Im not sure what I would what to tune the box at either? I've always used 3/4" MDF screws about 2-3 inches apart, 100% silicone the box. I'm looking to move the most air, get some slap goin . I was thinking maybe POWER ACOUSTIK BAMF-5500/1D for $220.00 wire it at 2 ohms 2300 watts. Any suggestions on the amp/box would be great.. Im looking to stay at that price roughly. Also do I need a high output alt, or maybe just a good cap? Power Acoustic recommends 3.4 cubic ft. 40 Hz and 2 ports 4" x 8.25" . Ive read that going with a bigger box would be best for moving air and tuning at maybe 30 hz? Help please! Thanks in advance! MOFO-15 Fs 33.5 Hz Vas 1.4 Cu. Ft. Qms 7.17 Qes 0.51 Qts 0.4795 Xmax 0.9 If you want to see my mids highs install pics -> http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3883271/3 Best video of a single Mofo at work ->
  14. Thanks guys and hell ya he is that shit sounds real nice!
  15. I herd the I got five on it in steve's video from the palms. It has the same words but the bass levels are way different. Can someone help me find it? Thanks, Sean
  16. What is your setup? Are you planning on adding more? If I were you I would lean into a high output alternator before a second battery.
