  15. Exactly. I've never built a box before, and no I definitely won't be hitting 150 db with 2 12s tuned to 29 hz, I just thought I'd save some money and try out building a box or two out of this plywood. If they don't sound great no big deal. I was just wondering if I would be wasting my time.
  16. Turn your gain way down son. If you have a Digital Multimeter handy then you can use it to set your gains right. If not I suggest dropping by Radio Shack or a hardware store and grabbing one. Then do this: Click this shit here. Then enjoy your music without clipping the shit out of your sub. If it's not loud enough, go for the ported box. Gains were set with an O-scope...
  17. I just installed my first system, 2 12" treo SSis on a hifonics 1600. Problem is, the box they are in(i didn't build it, got it for free) is sealed and too small and all in all is just a crappy box. It flexes really bad and leaks in some spots. The other day I noticed this weird sound when I turned it up, and my immediate thought was they were bottoming out. I don't think they'd be bottoming out saying that they're rated for 750 RMS a piece and my gain is 3/4 of the way up, plus they're in a small sealed box. So then I thought it might be the dust cap blowing off, but I'm still not sure. Would building a new ported box that is the right size stop this problem? I have one designed, 4 ft^3 @ 29 hz. My dad just informed me that we have some plywood laying around I could use to build a box. I'm not sure what kind of plywood it is, so my question is: Is any plywood okay to use to build a box? I know birch is like the best, but are other plywoods still good?
  18. Thanks man, to emaik him do I just do it off of the sundown site?
  19. Wanted: Sundown Audio SAZ-1500 or 2000D Make an offer PM on here or Email [email protected]
  20. Oh awesome Seriously, thank you a lot Anyway to save money is great Thanks again
  21. Ha, I was literally on Audio Que website today looking at that exact amp I just haven't heard too much about their lower power amps so i wasn't really sure if it would be good And from what I hear sundown has AMAZING amps Thanks man, I'll be sure to check those out
  22. I'm willing to pay around $300 as of now But I'd gladly think about more expensive amps, haha I'm not too worried about the price, just trying to get some suggestions on what you guys think are good choices And then I'll worry about what is a better deal later on
  23. How's it going? I have 2 12" treo SSi subs (dual 4 ohm, 750 watts rms each), and when I purchased the subs I got a Performance Teknique amp with them. Now before you get too worried, I'm not going to use the PT amp at all; However I need help on some suggestions with some amps that would be good for these subs. That's where you come in I really want a nice amp to power these things right, but I'm 15 and I can't get a job so I'd like to get a nice deal on it If I can't get a nice amp for cheap, then I'll just save and buy an expensive one I've been thinking about the Treo ssx 1400.1 to run these subs @ 1 ohm But that amp is extremely expensive(for my price range) Should I just keep saving and get it, or try and find another amp for cheaper? Any help is appreciated.
