  1. Didn't wire the head unit so... might have that checked out! I'm hoping when i get this rear speaker out tomorrow i find the - and + are just hanging

there and they are touching the roof of the cab. That would explain alot plus i can get that speaker fixed while i'm at it. Guys down at Freemans

told me that was the reason my Kenwood went out (blown speaker). Forgot all about it till now so fingers crossed!

  2. Walt Arney Rd... by the store. lol Nice to see a local around. I have the bass turned down being i have the

2 15's in the back...no need for over kill on factory speakers. I've never really had this problem before until now

but the previous head unit wasn't even close to being any good so i figure it may be the blown speaker. Fingers crossed

i'll find out tomorrow if this snow doesn't get to bad.

  3. test the speakers by putting a 9v batter on their terminals.. if the cone moves easily and without a lot of scratchy noise they're probably fine.

Volume levels fading or cutting out due to heat (or voltage drop) is nothing new for head units... my Pioneer does fades but doesnt cut out.

Wish the manufacturers would put better heatsinks on them.

Mine cuts off all together until i turn it back down then it comes back in on certain hard beats. I've read elsewhere it could be an ohm

issue but wanted to see what answers i could get here.
