Yes, will work just fine. Although I'm still a little dubious of the enclosure fitting and still providing all the correct specs
i'll post pics of everything when im done. im prob gonna just get the box made. it will be the full length of the cab. ordered the amp with standard shipping so it should be here in 3 or 4 days. 6 at the most.

If this is a single cab...where are you placing the subs?
You haven't given enough information to even begin assume how your setup might compare with his. There's wiring, vehicle, power, enclosure, sub placement, port, tuning....
But to answer you you shouldn't need a new alternator. I would upgrade your starter battery and do the big 3 but with the 1500 you're going to notice some drops. Get the kicker 1000 and be better off.
awesome. alright hows this? http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_29870_Rockford-Fosgate-PRIME-R1000-1D-Amplifier-Kit.html
1000rms rockford fosgate amp with everything.subs will be behind the seats in a custom enclosure. my enclosure is going to be like this only taller.
thanks for the help so far. -
Yes...1500rms at 2 ohms....giving each sub 750. Each sub will not see 1500 watts.Per captain planet, a zx1000 will also be ideal.
isnt that to much? the max on these subs is 1200watts. thats 1500 rms... i was looking at thishttp://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_26106_MTX_JH600.aspx?utm_source=google_shopping&utm_medium=Product_Feed&utm_campaign=google_shopping_Price_ComparisonKicker zx1500thats still to much right? these subs are 600rms. not trying to sound condescending im just new to this. so i can actually have more rms that 600 and still be safe? i think im going to get this one : http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_29708_Kicker-08ZX1500.1-ZX1500.1-Amplifier-Kit.html if what your saying is right its going to bang the hell out of a single cab... right? haha
And give each sub only 300 watts? Seems a waste to me...O_O
see.. i was mislead. one of my friends told me that and it didnt make sense to me. thats why im on a forum now lol okay besides the amp question will i need to get a new alternator or battery? im kinda hoping i can get away without one for a while. i want to get this project wrapped up soon. how hard is this gonna bang? my friend has 2 kicker 15's, solo classics with a kicker 750rms amp. how will it compare?

Kicker zx1500
isnt that to much? the max on these subs is 1200watts. thats 1500 rms... i was looking at this

i have two kicker L5's on the way. just need help picking out a amp.

Oh actually $560 is for the entire system. Excluding the deck. So I need the box sub or subs, amp. I was looking at a Rockford amp that had 500 or 600 rms and all the wiring stuff too. It's a combo on sonicelectronix.com for $160. I that a good deal?
-
It's fine I'm on my phone so there's alot of typos in my sentences. I really really wanted a normal size 12 in my s10. Remember it's a single cab. What could I ge for $560 that's exactly how much I have set aside for a system. If you guys can make me a setup I would appreciate that so
much. I'd like at least 500 + rms and a box that's suffeciant enough for the sub you guys choose
-
Well I guess all I can do is go in there and ask him again. I know what he said but maybe he was confused. I will give him the benefit of a doubt but after he tells me I will asK him for the specific model number and the box. Think it's fair KNOWING what I'm getting for near $600 right? Haha. While were at it could I fit a single 12in Rockford fosgate p3 in a single cab s10? Would it sound good?

Crap I think those are them actually. I wa so set on gettn them and now I could care less. Are you sure those didn't come in different levels? Like a 500 rms 1200w max. If not then he totally lied to my face.
-
No the m takes up most of the sub actually.
-
No that's the mojo line I think right? The m is a little bigger and grey or whIte. Can't remember. But it's neither of the ones posted. Well I asked him howuch rms and he said 500w and the max was either 1000 or 1200

Went to my local audio store where there sell alo if Memphis. Anyways the sub I'm interested in buying is supposeD to be 500rms sub. It's a memhis 12 with the m on it. Anyways I told him I'll be back, okay basically I can't find memhis 12 with 500rms anywhere. Do they make a 500 rms sub? If so post a link so I can actually know what I'm getting. Plus I wanna look up some reviews for it
-
No it's a mono amp. You can hook more than one sub up to it as long as the final impedance is equal to the 2 ohm rating of that amp.
What's your plans? Get one amp and sub now and maybe another amp/sub later or stick with the setup you purchase now?
knowing how i am i would prob get another sub down the road. same rockford p3.
-
The wood from your box would put you over 7 inches.
okay well then i could move the seat up and i could still have leg room. so is that a good combo? im getting ready to order the amp
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_27501_Combo-+Rockford+Fosgate+PRIME+R500-1+%2B+Amp+Kit.html
btw does 1 channel mean i can only hook one sub up to it?
-
-
The mounting depth on that sub is 6 3/4 inches. You only have 7 inches depth behind your seat. This means that you dont have enough room. Bigger is not always better, especially on a low budget build. An underpowered 12 is going to be out performed by an 8 that is powered properly.
the mounting depth is how deep the sub is right? why wouldnt 7 be enough?
not trying to be a smart ass, i just dont understand
-
Okay i feel more confused now then before i posted lol How would this be
amp
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_27501_Combo-+Rockford+Fosgate+PRIME+R500-1+%2B+Amp+Kit.html
sub
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9104_Rockford+Fosgate+Punch+P3D212.html
and my cab is small. for example when i buy a 72 pack of pads for my dog if someone else is on the passenger side the only place to put it is on there lap. besides the bed lol but that should give you a idea of how small my cab is. + i think i could fit a 12 because i have about 7inches from the behind the seat to spare
-
Is DC a good brand? I've never heard of them till now.
-
i heard the sa-8 i wanted to get some for my last car but didnt have the money they sound nasty
Okay guys how is this: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_29858_Sony+XM-ZZR3301+%2B+Amplifier+Kit.html
? Its a cheaper option but for a cab small as mine i think it should be okay. Still looking for different options. I think i need to come back to reality or realize what i want/need. the sa-8 or the ones i have been looking at is way overkill lol I guess i would like something at least on par with his. I'd like something that flexes the roof a little, like his
-
Dude 2 sa-8's or 2 DC level 8's would slam in your truck
Okay so far i have found 2 amps. Not done looking though.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_13162_MTX+Audio+JackHammer+JH600.html
Also can you post a link to the one you talking about. I searched for it and it came up with some converter. lol

Picking the amp first will help you eliminate some choices and maybe find new ones.
Okay let me check out some amps real quick. Are there any amps you would suggest?
Whats a good amp for my setup?

okay i was looking through the kicker manual and it says the minimum space for a ported box is 1.75ft. my question is about the port. should i build a divider between the two subs and put a port on each side of the box or would it be better just to port the box in the middle, between both subs?
