  1. Only drawback I personally know of is less current flow. Oxygen Free Copper can handle more current (350A or so) than CCA (300A). But it's also cheaper (CCA) and depending on the price you can get it, it MAY be cheaper to do 2 runs of CCA than 1 run of OFC. I'm sure more knowledgeable people will chime in though. Edit-OK so maybe CCA isn't good for 300 lol (see post above)
  2. Good guy here. Had a small issue because of UPS, not Alex's fault, but we sorted it all out. Great communication, couldn't be happier. Thanks man!
  3. Could get the red ones...? Red Personally, I'd go with smoked. Red looks too stock, clear looks too ricey.
  4. Well...sorry, but I can't. lol I just found out he wrecked it last night after a car show. Nobody got hurt, just the truck, his ego, and a phone pole. The pics Beatbox posted should be good enough though Those look clearer though, my buddy may have VHT'd his a little, they seemed a bit darker.
  5. Buddy of mine just put these on his 05 Spyder Taillights Price is high, but I'm sure you could find em cheaper on ebay. They look really good on his truck though, better than his "smoked" (aka rattle canned) stock tails.
  6. Had a cookout today with a few friends I haven't seen in a while. One of whom leaves Wednesday for his EIGHTH tour of duty in Iraq. Even if you don't support the war, support the troops! They are the real heroes in America, willing to die for all of us. THANK YOU!
  7. I know it sounds cliched now, but I haven't really liked anything since the Marshall Mathers LP. Oh, and I forgot, TechN9ne...anything by him lol. He's a good dude too, got to kick it with him a few times.
  8. Tough one. Either Scarface, Tupac & Johnny P-Smile Black Sabbath-Paranoid or 8Ball & MJG-Armed Robbery (Or anything off of Comin' Out Hard)
  9. Yup, the internet is a beautiful thing I was kinda surprised it didn't get stopped in the 1st. But I guess now Dana can keep saying Lesnar>Fedor lol
  10. I'd say 1-2 weeks (where I work, we are understaffed and busy, so it may be faster wherever you are) and we'd charge around 2500 just for the paint work for a full color change (jambs, interior areas where you see the color, etc.) PLUS any bodywork. Remove & Install (R&I) time for the handles, emblems, quarter glass, most likely taking doors, hood, hatch off the car, it all adds up. But on the other hand, we mostly do insurance work/repair, so a custom shop may be a good amount cheaper, AND be faster. We turn out about 100 cars a week, while the busiest custom shop I know of around here MIGHT get 1-2 cars done each week lol. But stay away from Maaco or any of those "$399 paint job" companies. You will get what you pay for. Sorry for the long post..
  11. It seems like I've always kept closer to 9:1 just for aesthetic reasons, but never knew if there were rules to it lol. And now I still don't haha. Thanks though.
  12. Is there any difference between these 3 ports? 30" x 1" 10" x 3" 6" x 5" they are all 30^2 but is there any difference? More port noise with the thin port? Just curious, going to build a few small boxes and play withe the tuning before I build a box for 4 10" and decide I don't like it lol. I have never seen any certain ratio, but then again, I've never been around people that know what they are doing Thanks
  13. Meant to say "spls" in my last post. Damn predictive text on my phone...and I was thinking 12s at one point, but I kinda want to surprise all the people I know that say 10s are too small. So when their 4 15s in a prefab get out performed by some little 10s...lol. Damn That's a long run on paragraph. And a lot to type on a fake keyboard haha. Thanks for the ideas tho. Keep em coming
  14. Lol I saw your f/s thread, but assumed the sold weren't very musical. But I am playing with the idea of 2 15s in my mustang...
  15. Planning on 4 10s. Not for sure getting the amps, but for the price...I'm really leaning towards them. For right now, I'm only planning on the 2 amps, but later on, may upgrade to one per sub if I feel like I need it and if I can figure out how to cram more alts under the hood lol. Thanks guys, I guess I can start designing a box now. Kinda off topic- I'm sure there are a few, but I've never seen a multiple alt setup on a truck like mine. I'm going to email Iraggi & DC in a few days, but in the meantime, anybody seen a setup for a 99 dakota, 3.9L? edit- Naturally, Thor's PMs are full lol. I'll try again later, it'll probably be a few weeks before I need a real price anyways
  16. I'm still in the planning stage now, but my newest plan is 4 10s in the cab of my Dakota. I was thinking 2 Crescendo 3kwps and 4 XL's (with full electrical of course) in a 8 cuft box, tuned to 30-32. But now I'm also looking at level 5 10s. Being in Kansas nobody has anything besides Alpine and Kicker, so I haven't heard either sub. So, if this was your setup, would you do the XLs, or slightly underpower the 5s, or do something else completely? It will be my daily driver, no comps, probably demos every few days, not chasing numbers... Also, I'm trying to stay below the window line, so I'd like to stick with 10s, but a wall isn't COMPLETELY out of the question. A blow through is though (yes, I'm a pussy ) If I need to, I could get around 10 cuft without a wall, haven't checked what size I could do with a wall. By the way, pricing on both (XLs, 5s)would be appreciated, I work long, messed up hours, so when I call DC, nobody answers. This is the earliest I've been home in 3 weeks lol 14 hour days SUCK, but they also help fund my system so.. :/ Thanks in advance guys
