Yeah honestly who doesnt have a cell phone nowadays....
call ambulance or tell someone else to because you know they also have cell phone
look at your buddy and give him the you see that bangin bitch right beside you, look at one another in agreement that you should DEFINITELY get her in the car and do dirty things with her and share with your friend.
If you dont have a friend like that then you need some new fuckin friends sorry to say
WOOT
Agree with that

led's strait to speaker wire or crossovers, works fine
may just do that then, seems easier and more straight forward than all these fancy boxes that do some stuff to make it flash lol.
Would you recommend using the speaker wires off the head unit?
im asking that because they aren't being used, and then i guess the LED's wouldn't be receiving hell tonnes of power either
-
damn thats hard....
for a sensible answer i would have to say id choose the girl of my dreams, because your best mate would understand and a woman in labour would have an ambulance on the way
LOL if the girl of your dreams rejects you. Jk
lol thanks man, if that were the case id have to say, her lose

Is this going in a Honda? Lol
hell no! im not a honda person.
Although im not hating on people that do own a honda, i just dislike them
-
Hmm.. Maybe wiring them to the speaker wire? Seems like That way they get power when the speaker gets power, which would make it blink to the music or whatever... Just a thought, I'm interested in this too
yeah i thought about doing that but then i thought that it would be getting all of the frequencies and maybe not the right amount of power or something
You would need led strips and this: http://www.streetglow.com/s.nl/c.460445/it.A/id.808/.f?sc=2&category=10
You can also get strips from them. Ive had the strips made for home use in my entertainment center for over 1.5 yrs, and love them
this streetglow module looks like a good way to go but from what it says its limited to the amount of lights it will be able to run
EDIT:....but then again you did just say they sell LED strips so maybe it could handle a few of those

So i want to do something all flashy and cool but not sure how to go about it.
i want to hook up some lights (LED or neon) so that they flash in time with the music (preferably the bass or mid bass),. Anyone know how to do this?
If not ive got a LOT of research and testing to do to find out how to do it

or....it may give you super powers if you eat it...

good stuff man

I know all of the subs have a decent sound quality aspect to them, but ive had a look on the Fi audio website, and the Fi.Q is said to be the best for sound quality.
the new plan is to get two 12" either BL or Q subs, although i had been looking and asking questions about the BTL.
I want to be able to have a fair amount of bass but keep sound quality (reason being i want to make a system set up that is Sq over SPL), so which would be best to go for?
also weight of the sub plays a big factor in which one i get in the end, as it needs to be shipped to NZ.
so if its possible to get figures on the weight of the subs ive mentioned that would be great
-
^he can do his maths alright

Idk exactly why bass boost is not usually a good thing but i personally dont ever use it. If i was you i would turn the bass boost off and if you dont get the output you want from your subs then try and adjust your gain on the amp or even your hu. But i personally wouldnt go over 70-75% on the amp gain max.
alright, thanks. the gain is at about 70% at the moment on the amp
There actully are some times were bass boost is used. Like in t-line's...
It can also be used in music that has little bass, and useing just a little in bass lackin music is ok.
Plus its a great marketing thing. I mean what stupid teen doesnt like the words "bass boost"
thats true with teenagers liking the words "bass boost", hell im not denying i liked the sound of it when i first bought it

yeah i suspected low volts, looks like my next few pay days will be going towards alt and some batteries.
would i be able to get away with upgrading to a single battery in the back and a new battery in the front, with a single 220A alt?
-
not complaining just saying:
why do they put bass boost on an amp if its better to not have it turned on, i don't get that
-
alright ill turn them down, rather be not as loud rather than silent.
-
amp settings are:
subsonic filter: 30Hz
LPF: 90Hz
bass boost is at +6dB (setting goes up to 12dB)
Gain (volts) is at about 5.5V
when the amp goes into protection is that because my voltage has dropped too low? or is that to do with clipping aswell?
-
alright i have read through a fair few different posts that state similar problems, but figured i would just ask in my own thread.
i get the sort of burning smell when my subs are hitting hard (cant think of how else to word that).
but the thing is it doesn't happen all the time, i can play a song one day and no smell, play it another day and i get the burning smell. on occasions a few seconds after the burning smell my amp goes into protection mode.
so i was wondering is this happening because i am clipping hard out?
or is it something to do with my electricals? (my electricals are still stock, no big 3, no battery upgrade as far as i know, and its only a little 70A alt)
also i have just read on another thread that pioneer head units can clip the signal at just over half volume.
is this true? and if so what are decent head units that don't clip so easily?
yes i know i could check all the clipping stuff with an o-scope but i haven't got the money to buy one at the moment

I feel you need to post a little tut on here cuz i want to know how to do this
i like how this guy thinks, tut would be great

And yet so sad the US would probably never do something cool like this due to safety This would be super fun just to go on the course and go slow!!
The thing is you can't go slow, you would crash.
he has a good point you have to go a reasonable speed to stay in control, sounds weird but is the truth.
mean vid btw

only use music that is 320kbps or higher on an ipod there is no way that you can tell a dif in that and a CD
ah that is probably the issue i been having, only some of the music on my ipod is 320kbps, the rest is either 128kbps or 196kbps. thanks for letting me know that, that actually helps heaps
-
CD changers help alot for this. I like CDs alot more too. Just easier to have a couple thousand songs on two usb flash drives tho.
that is true, having it on usb means you dont have to change through like 100cds
You shouldnt say you have your bass knob on full. Just and fyi, bad idea to say that
i'll remember that for the future, thank you kind sir haha
looks like ill be making the switch to a head unit with usb input sometime in the near future
-
Random as but was just wondering.
i find using cds just seems "better" than plugging in your ipod, but i cant do that anymore because it just skips
are any of the guys on this forum able to play cds in there system without it skipping because of the vibrations caused by the bass??? (im talking about when you crank the volume right up and have your bass knob on full)
