  1. yeah i knew you'd get confused on this. check the manual, it should specify which input to use whether it be tweeter or woofer or a bridge of some sort (might be woofer i dont know)

ok one last thing. is it possible for me to be able to connect all woofers and tweeters to the amp? im asking this cause i havent got them yet. and if it cant happen im not gonna get them.

  2. shouldnt be too hard. i drew up a quickie diagram on how to do it. i know some RF components have 2 inputs per crossover, one for woofer one for tweeter, but the manual tells you what input to use if you are using 1 amp for both woofer and tweeter and not one amp for each. its the same as wiring up anything else except you have a crossover to deal with. the light blue is from crossover to the tweeter and woofer which is self explanatory. but the red and black is speaker wire going to amp to crossover (again refer to manual on which input to use on the crossover IF you have 2 separate inputs)

i understood nearly everything. one thing i didnt understan is how from a crossover that has 2 inputs 1 for the tweeter and one for the woofer which they both have a negative and a possetive line will take up one negative and one posetive on the amp.

  3. No i will quote you. This whole time you where asking WHY the head unit has 3 set of RCA's and how to hook the amp up. No speakers or crossovers where mentioned.

    FYI.

Good head unit anything pioneer. They have 4 volt pre outs. Yes thats good. Yes it will do what you want.

As far as hooking up speakers to crossovers its a simple as hooking up some wire and mounting the crossover its self.

You dont hook the crossover to the amp per say.

    Hu-> Amp -> Crossover -> speakers

    Get it?

The crossover is connected through the amp via the speaker terminals on the amp. So instead of hooking up the speakers to the amp. You hook the crossovers to the amp and then the speakers to the crossover.

i understood everything but just to clarify the crossover hooking up to the amp im posting 2 photos.

  4. Why is there more then one set?

Because most Headunits not days have built in EQ's and in order to use those correctly and easily what they have done is set 1 set for the front 1 set for the rear and 1 set for the subs.

That way where your adjusting you sub-woofer levels on the H/U it not controlling the mids and highs and vise versa.

more than one sets of what? i want to buy a good head unit with 3 rca inputs like the photo i showed you and im gonna buy one pair of RF T1652-S 6.5" (for my front doors) and one pair of T152S 5.25" (for my rear doors) and im gonna buy that 4 channel amp for them. and i just wanted to learn how to hook the speaker to the crossovers and what kind of ohms would be best suited for the speakers, and how can i hook up the crossovers to the amp, and last but not least the amp to my head unit. thats all.

  5. This is a mids a highs amp. As i said the RCA's will connect to the "front" and "rear" of the headunit!

Meaning you would connect the other end of the rca's to the CD player of the car. The cd player will have to have "sub" for you sub stage. "front" for your front stage or front speakers and "rear' stage for your rear speakers

So all in all the RCA's will connect to the CD player

    The CD player will need

    "front"

"rear" Rca's for that amp and if you want a sub

    "sub" RCAs

    2cxvm95.jpg

so the other end of the rca's will attatch to the 2 of these (and the spear one is for the sub if i want one) right?

  6. Ok hooking up this amp is just like a sub amp. Instead you connect the RCA's to the "front" and "rear" rcas in the back of the head unit. You can get 4 channel RCA's here

If you have any other questions just ask.

ok here is the amp im thinking of getting http://www.audiosavings.com/products/4-Channel-Car-Amplifier/ROCKFORD-FOSGATE-4-CHANNEL-POWER-AMPLIFIERAMP-KIT/T400-4---XK4B2.aspx it comes with a cable set too..so take a look at the photos and plz let me know if the rca's and all the cable kit is good, and if i connect the front and rear rca's to the amp where do i connect the other ends? to the in-dash reciever? and if yes do i need to have an in-dash reciever with 2-3 rca cable in puts?

  7. hi guys im about to go buy a 4 channel amplifier (rockford fosgate T400-4) and i wanted to ask a few questions concurning the installation:

1)is it theinstallation the same as a monoblock amp?

2)the amp comes with 2 RCA ables, would i need to connect both of them to the back of the amp there were it sais front and rear? and if i do what will the other 2 ends connect to?

here is a photo of the back of the amp

    please let me know.

  8. 2 type r's not 1. thats probably how you got 418.

dual 4 means that the woofer has two 4 ohm voice coils. it has two voice coils because it gives the person more choices on how to wire them to different ohm loads.

if you wire those 2 type r's like this to the amp,

    2_4ohm_dvc_1ohm.gif

then you have the ability to get all the power out of the amp. theres pictures (like this one) to help tune your gains. you would want 1200w and 1 ohm in that picture, so about 35 volts AC.

you can find the 50hz test tone that the picture talks about here. http://www.realmofexcursion.com/downloads.htm the 0db sine wave will be fine (right click then save as)

thanx aloth my friend you have helped me a ton...i think im gonna deffinatly get the amp and 1 sub...and later on im gonna get another sub cause i cant afford 2 right now..so i will not have a problem hooking the amp up at 1 ohm to the 2 subs? and if i do will i ned a second battery for my car..?

  9. im a little rusty but i understood alot of what you said. ill help you out absolutely.

    thio alpine type r's

this should be a good setup for you. total is $589, a little more than you wanted to spend but theres nothing else really "good" on that site in your price range.

thanx alot...but i dont know nearly anything about the rms ratings and the ohms you need to connect your amp too...so the sub has 2 dual 4ohm coils. what does that mean? now for the amp. what would be the best way to hook up the amp to the sub without damaging the sub or the amp to get maximum power from the amp to the sub. i ask you all this cause im really a bass junky and i dont think a 12" will satisfy my needs..

P.S. the stuff that you gave me in the links add up to 418$ not 589...

  10. 2 audioque sdc2.5's and an audioque 1200d.

  11. hi guyz i came accross this (the link at the bottom) as i was browsing audiosavings and i found it prety good and im thinking of buying it..so could i have an experts apinion on if its any good...and if it is what capabilities do i have with the sub and the amp (i know it has a description on everything but because i dont know alot about car audio i would like some help) for exaple: can i wire it up to 1 ohm when it has dual 2ohm coils? and if i do is the sub gonna break cause of the more watts im feeding it? or how much sound deformation will the amp have towards the sound? in general im asking if it would be a good purchase or would it be money down the drain?

  12. Before you go getting all this stuff you need to figure out how much power you will be running.

If two batteries would suffice without having too much voltage drop then you just wire them in parallel. Positive to positive. Negative to negative.

what i have in mind is that i want to hit 139.9 dBs and i was thinking of getting 2 kicker l7 15" and for my doors 2 beyma 8" in each door and 1 titanium horn in each door....now if anyone has anything else to sugest that will not cost me alot of money that would be great....i want to spend 1000-1500 on my system.

  13. hi guyz im cinda new at the whole sound system thing and i dont know anything about how to connect all the speaker with the amplifier or the amplifier to sound sourse or the batteries to the amplifiers or alot of battaries to the main one,so i started this topic hopping that someone would come along and explain to me the procedure of houw to connect alot pf battaries to the main one. thank you in advance!
