to bad i have like no where else to mount mine haha but the box should be really secure how much does this matter?
-
They are D4 ohm right? If so, run everything in parallel which gives you 1 ohm, which is what you want.
yep hes right given that there dvc. i dont know much about mtx
-
because if you don't do it their way, you are a worthless human being. I got fucked over by a shop by me a lot when I didn't know shit. If you don't have a tattoo of a JL Audio logo inside of a heart on your body, they won't treat you good.
x2 to the max... all the shops here r like omg jl and everything else sucks ass.. ok mr. "proffesional" haha
-
yeah dude for the money u cant really get much better but 300 is tight.. lets say 85 for both subs shipped. 145 for the KAC-8105D amp which is of appopriate size. and like 85 for a box. and then like 120 for the KDC-MP345U head unit. and like 40 for wireing. and thats already 475 right there if you istall it yourself..
-
haha dude i love lincoln town cars! and one with bass to! shit ide be soo happy! but yeah port that shit!
-
Alright, i'm planning to buy my first system and i was wondering what ya'll thought of the kenwood KFC-W3012 and the KFC-W3012 and kenwood amps? Also what would be a good first head unit to buy? and any sub, amp, or headunit suggestions are welcome. I'm not completely locked in to buy kenwood's products yet.
Also, what all would i need to buy to install my first system?
And whats a good gauge of wire to buy?
Thanks!
[/quote the subs u suggested r like 30 buks a piece and ive had em b4 u really cant beat em for the price i mean whats 30 buks? why the hell not right haha.. i was very impressed considering the price.. and i would reccomend kenwood amps ive had really good relationships with them. especially the 9104d yet agin not the best but kenwood from my experience is a great way to jump into the audio game.. and ull need an enclosure. ide go ported with that setup. and a 4 gauge wireing kit will do ya fine. u wont need a cap or anything no matter what ur noob friends say. and what kin of car r u putting it in?
-
theres a few pics for yall and ill have some of the trunk soon but can anybody on here do some sketches for me? maybe a google sketchup of something to give me some ideas?
-
Ok guys i need some help with this one its a tuffy. im putting some beat in my 2002 pontiac firehawk conertible which is in brand new condition with only 5 k miles. and i have to keep everything the way it is no permanant modifications and the damn 12 disk changer will be a bitch since i cant move it. im just begining the planning stage now. maybe 1 fi bl 12 in custom fiberglass box? NEED SUGESTIONS note cost isnt really an option and i cant upgrade the electricals. so nothing sickly powerful. will have pics of what im dealing with tomorrow.

Here where I live in north Bama there are plenty of car clubs. Problem is most of them are antique car clubs, and there are zero audio clubs that I can find. I was wondering if there might be any members here that were from the area? I believe if I could get one started I would have NO problem in getting it to grow. Everybody and their grandmother has beat around here, just no one joins together in the interest of the hobby.
dude i live in south hunstville and yeah everyones got beat. but nothing to do with it. 0 comps round here. but yeah start ur own damn adio club haha ill join friend me my computers being a faggot
-
very true. but would it just be giving power to the led with the car off? or the amp still sucking power?
-
u can run it with the power wire and put a switch on the dash. did it in my friends car. super easy and worked fine
-
lol 15 cubes and your using 1/2 inch wood??? seems alittle thin too me...
X2 ide go with 1 inch. no less
-
well i'm just saying u said u wanted to go cheap and wanted co-axels. go ahead and go with diamond ur just gonna get bend over when u pay for them.
i actually very clearly sepcified i was looking at compnents only. and u can get alot better than coxial pioneers for 200 a set...
-
iv always liked the way pioneers coaxels sound and they are pretty cheap. only problem is they handle only like 35 rms
uhhhhh NO haha the hifonics coxials i got now dominate those. and im glassing my door panel and puttin 2 or 3 components in each door. i was thinking fosgate power? maybe diamond? but i didnt look prices up on the diamionds yet.
-
Are you looking for components or coaxials? What are you looking to spend?
definatly components and would like to keep it below 200 a set
-
lookin for some mid ranges in 6.5 and 3.5 to 4" all ive got is tweet and bass it seems like. any suggestions? note they need to handle 100 rms and yall can see what im runnin below.
-
cant find either used any where! haha hit me up if u got em

- The Lanzar Optidrive 15" is 3,000 watts rms: http://www.allaudioexpo.com/nav/details.asp?itemid=3235&catid=176&tran=fgle
- Normal people aren't allowed to own the W8v1.
rms rating isn't as relevant as you think...
oh ok i saw a differnt sub but power is power right? i know that other factors r a substantial part but i dont know much about that yet
-
oh yeah i know that box is key i spent about a month goin through different desgns and load of math for a btl 15. just it seems everyones like omg btl ftw when there not the only thing out there you know?
-
neither the powerbass or the lanzar rms as much wattage. thus how could they be louder? and jl w8?
-
Alright yall I was just looking for some input on whats louder than a loaded btl 15 for the same price shipped 425 is what a new btl is shipped. kinda vague i know but i know some of yall got some crazy secret shit haha. note im using an alpine mrp-m2000 amp 2000 rms at 2 ohm

alright yall im experimenting with this one.. yall ever thaught of putting an fi btl 15 ontop of one seat on ur extended cab pickup and not taking up the whole nack seat and still have almost 4 cubes. well here ya go!
hopefully it works ok. im not sure if the ports big enough.. its tuned to 32 hertz and the port is unexpectedly jammed into the back of my seat :/ so we'll see how that goes!
