read their rules. no one limits you to one frequency.
there forums crazy old and seems like no ones ever on it so im gona go look around elsewhere
-
thanks man found there site registered now just poking around to find events
guess theres one on june 19th but thats a 7 hour drive
wondering what you guys have expiernced as far as how comps are judged and what you do do you play a test tone does it have to be a cirtin hz or can u play anything you want? just asking for your guys epiernce with how things have worked
-
it only took you 5 min to look through all those?
went to there website looked at the events and there wasnt a single one in ny
-
why not?
I was just wondering because I noticed alot of people using 5" and 6" for their enclosures. and all I have is 4"
port size doesnt matter u can use any port size it all depends on the tuning your trying to get
-
first you want to swap clips now swap a diesel in. smh
i didnt wana swap clips i wanted to swap front ends
-
I believe the frame rails are the same between the gas and diesel versions of that body style dodge. If I was still living in my old neighborhood I could tell you for sure since I have a buddy with a 97 v10 2500, and another with a 97 cummins, both 4x4. I can see if I can call him up ask if he could check it out and see if they are the same.
that would be sick man

i live in northern ny 13658 ive heard of them having comps around here in ogensburg but idk where or when. ima go look up what was said above
as far as buying a termlab i dont have the money for that atm so i guess ill just have to ear it
just went and looked up all these and seems like there is nothing going on in ny
-
The Cummins....built like a tank.
Check a diesel site or forum, they'll have more thorough info on it.
im just trying to figure out what the differnces are frame tranny and engine mount wise between a 97 gas and 97 diesal 4x4 that way i can get an idea of if i could get away with just a drop out engine swap with harness and comp
-
im wondering if there is a diesel engine that can rather easily be swaped into a 97 ram im looking to run it off biodiesel
-
thats pretty sick
of seen a neon all electric to was pretty sick
-
ik some basics just wondering what the main things you do to build to get loud and can anyone answer how they test in comps
also ive looked and looked and cant find a way to find out where the comps are around here and how id get entered in one ima post an add on craigslist
-
i have a 97 ram with an ap1800 on a single re se 12 in a shitty ported box and this sub slams atleast to me. its running at 2 ohms and voltage is right at 14-15 at full tilt
i want to build a box to compete is just something that can get stupid loud ive never even been to competitions so idk how they grade them or if they use a hz test or what so i wana build a box that will get stupid loud at a cirtin hz of thats how they test or i wana build a box that gets stupid loud on music if thats how they test.
im not looking for someone to design me a box im just looking for advice
-
an srt4 and a neon are the same car the conversion you are talking about is way more involved than that nothing would line up you would be better of just buying a 2000 dodge none of the supports are the same it would be the same difficulty as putting a for front end on a chevy (not only that but blasphemy)
a 98 neon and a srt4 are completly differnt one wieghs almost 600 lbs less idk im gona see about getting the truck then look more into it
-
Its a completely different body style. Even if you swapped the grill/lights and bumper, you would have to swap the fenders and hood. Then those wouldn't line up with the doors, etc, etc.....
Have fun!
i knew i would have to swap fenders and hood idk i really want this if i end up getting the truck im going for it would be pretty sick do have the first ive seen vids on youtube of a kid that did an srt4 body swap on an 98 neon same concept
its not even the headlights and fenders its want more the hood and the grill and front bumper
-
might be getttng my hands on a 97 ram and ive been thinking about this for a while has anyone done a full front end conversion to make a 97 look like a 2000s ram the grills alot bigger as well as the lights and bumper i think it would be sick ive been pondering the idea but im not sure how to go about doing it thinking just litterally swap front ends not engine and such just the outside metal work

no i did not i went with a very basic recone but it looks like i got a flatwound coild does fi use flatwound coils with everything? i didnt order anything special just stock d4
I ordered mine flatwound and it was a dual 1 aluminum. They don't generally do flat by default. Do you know exactly what flat looks like? It does look similiar to round wire.
it is squared and flat instead of being round and bumpy if thats the case idk what ima do when i order the recone for my other se this is the only pic i have its kinda hard to tell in the pic but it apears flatwound to me it was smooth not bumpy like other coils ive seen
-
if thats the case then how come in tores when i add more length to a port it lowers the tuning
-
waiting for my caulking to dry on my aero then ima go slap it in i just want to lower my tuning somewhere in the 30s this 40s shit sucks balls
-
stick an aero on it and see how it sounds
no one on here will say it is a good idea. do it anyway. see what happens
good deal
-
im gona test adding a 3" port to see if i like my results with 1 3"x8 port the box is tuned to 25hz so i wonder what itll be with the slot port
-
i agree with everybody else...
answer is no...
im gna say rebuild.. but you dont wna hear that...
just adding another port.. throws off your tuning... unless your very very VERY careful with calculations...
but like i said... easier to jus rebuild...
but if your stubborn and refuse to rebuild...
heres what you "could" try
cut the box and make it sealed first(making it a single sealed 12).... calculate total volume... figure out tuning for an external areo port...
i would say thats the easiest thing you could do... (other then rebuilding a box)
i could just put a bigger bored to cover both the slot port and the other hole and go aero
-
instead of people saying build another box or w.e id like to just stay on topic please. i have a shitty ported box with one re se 12 its slot ported and tuned to really high like high 40s. the box is a duel box and i have one of the holes borded off im thinking about adding an areo port to where the hole is to lower my tuning
what do u guys think
wanting to add a 3"x8" long port
as far as cost i have no money if i did i would have built the box from the start im not talking about cutting the box just the piece of wood thats covering the whole how do i find out what my tuning would be after adding that port
