  1. so i got this car, and installed the system and i like to show it to you guys on this forum,

    the equipment is

    Amp: Phoenix Gold ZPA 0.3

    Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-4400BT

Accesories: Phoenix Gold MX2 Crossover filter

    1 Farad Capacitor

    4 guage power/ground wire.

    Subwoofers: Cerwin Vega Vega154 X2

    Enclosure: 224L tuned to 30HZ

    so here it is :)

    Thanks For Checking it out.

Let me know what you think :)

  2. sweet guys, answered my question, i just wanted a cheaper way of doing it rather then buying a head unit, its cheaper to use an ipod i already have. and besides, considering im considering this option in the first place, im not really needing super SQ here, i just want to be able to have a loud, bass heavy setup for my room, utilizing most of the stuff i already have.

you can also use and home amp with preout. or sub out. to the car amp:D tats what im doing:D and works really well.. only thing is that my amp uses so much electricity that my 3 power supplys makes it shut off ;((( mor powaaa :D

  3. Hey guys, I finally got my Peavey Pv215's in. So far il ike them a lot, the party i was supposed to DJ this weekend got cancelled so i havent got to fully hear them. Right now they are setup in my bedroom and they are loud! With the Peavey's having 2 15's in them the things have pretty good low end, but im always looking for more.

Basically im looking for a goof PA sub that wont completely break my bank. Doesnt matter if its active or passive, either way will work. In my Home theater im running 2 18's so i was thinking of maybe 2 more 18's for my PA system, just want something to make the party more enjoyable and the party goers to be able to feel the bass.

heyy man, you have many choices, try go to your local shop and look for some equipment, tell them you want to hear them.,

most cheap/low end subs doesnt play that well.. try stick to brands like cerwin vega, jbl, db, kam. i have 2 cerwin vega 154 the old series, in a ported L design, and its sick. those subs have been measured up to 170DBS! im just saying:D every pa setup is good. its all about the box.. try buy a sub and build a enclosure for it :D

  4. So as not to completely crap on the OP's thread, my suggestion is to get a good receiver and a solid set of bookshelves. Run a straight 2.0 set up for a while as you save money. Then add a sub for a 2.1 system. Later, you can add a center channel (3.1) and finally a set of towers and move the bookshelves to the rear to complete a 5.1 system.

i also am 16 years old with atleast a 300 dollar budget and that to me is top dollar. Damn i will just use some damn car speakers powersupplys and a RF amp

Thats right:) im running 3 psus and one amp on 215s. Gotta love car audio at home :D

For the price you pay to get decent quality PSUs, you may as well have bought a receiver.

I have A stereo amplifier. Nad c355bee im very happy with it. Im running 2 pairs of speakers on it. Cerwin vega xls 12 and cerwin vega v 12. And the psus are from random pcs ive thrown:P

    I stand behind my statement.

Your amplifier is looking for power at 13.8 - 14.4. This is where most are rated. Running an amplifier on a PSU is going to have the amplifier acting like its always in a state of low voltage. I seriously, seriously doubt a computer PSU is putting out 13.8 - 14.4 volts. All the looking online I've done has put it in the high 11s to the low 12s. As I'm sure you're already aware, these are numbers that we try to avoid on this forum when we are setting up charging systems in our cars.

The kind of PSU you would need to (properly) set up car audio in home is like this one.

And when you can buy receivers like this one for the same money, gain features that make way more sense in the home audio environment, and reduce the fire hazard, well, the choice is obvious unless you're looking for a project.

yea. im aware.. those psus i have. run at 12 volt.. but different amps, i have blue neon in the amp.. lol, when its turned up high. the neon flashes :D. so i need more amps:D. well gta find a pc powersupply from a pc;). and maybe i need a power block or two to organize the cables..

  5. The logitech z-5500 is some good speakers. Mostly used for pc. Ive had i before as my main stereo. It was pretty sick. You get alot for the money!!

    This.

If you're on a hella tight budget, the Logitech speaker systems are hard to beat.

Its doable, but you'd spend a LOT of time bargain hunting.

The Z-2300 I had, while far from an audiophile system, could output a lot of sound for not a lot of money.

The Klipsch ProMedia set I got afterward is better quality wise at low volume, about the same money, but has really bad distortion on the sub at high volume.

Bigger budget--get a receiver and a couple bookshelves.

    Low volume--get the ProMedia

    High volume--Z2300

i also am 16 years old with atleast a 300 dollar budget and that to me is top dollar. Damn i will just use some damn car speakers powersupplys and a RF amp

  6. nice:D i would go for 1 chamber 1 sub. just split in half. and tuned to 26 hz. thats what i would do, the boxes looks prettty good :D

how many liters and what is it tuned to?

trying for 9 cube net and tuned to 35hz. and i thought about just

spitting it in half and if i do i will end up make a bigger box cuz of the

    port volume right?

Yep thats right. I just made my first box. Make sure you have a long port, or you will gett air sound from the port. Im looking forward to see more.

  7. get either the 8" cerwin vega ve series sub, or the 8" cerwin vega vega series.. that will bump. i think the kicker beats the rockford:D

do you get paid on commission to sell cerwin vega?

nope man.. im just recommending a speaker. doesnt mean i get paid to do it.. maybe its why. i have cv system myself and im happy with it. if ur not. fine..

its just like u guys reccomending rockford or sundown. doesnt mean they get paid to say it..

that's cool that you like it. but seriously you lose credibility when you're so biased. every time i've seen you reply to someone's question, if there is the slightest chance for you to recommend CV, you jump on it.

Example: a guy was trying to decide between 2 different PA speakers (neither of which were CV). without knowing anything else about the situation (what it would be used for, what research they had done, budget, etc.), you recommended a completely different product. in the OP's perspective, this kind of response is completely useless. In the sales world, this is called "sales suicide". you have not given them any reason to trust you.

go to just about any retail store with sales associates to help customers. say you're in a store looking for a new laptop.

    Associate 1:

say you go up to this associate and say, "i'm looking for a new laptop, can you help me?" the associate then takes you over to a $1200 MacBook. he tells you "This macbook is an awesome laptop, it has a webcam, garageband, a really long battery life, and a lot of internal memory so you can save a lot of stuff"

    Associate 2"

you tell them "i'm looking for a new laptop, can you help me?" the associate responds by saying, "certainly! what kind of things are you looking to do with it?". you and the associate converse for a little while and through some small talk and a few questions he discovers your needs. at the end of this transaction you walk out completely satisfied with the computer you got and you only spent $400.

i don't know about you, but i'd be more likely to listen to associate 2 if he told me i needed something extra with my laptop, as opposed to associate 1, i'd feel like he was just trying to get more money out of me. a little thing called trust is very important.

i'm not saying you can't ever recommend CV, and i'm certainly not saying i'm not guilty of the same crime, but ask a few need discovery questions before you jump to such conclusions.

sorry to be an ass and threadjack, but i can't stand to see this stuff

    /end rant

    /end threadjack

    cool story hah:D

the reason why i allways reccomend cv. is that ive been grown up with it.. its allright man.. noone can stand me.. not even the fuucking internet can.. the only thing i have is a system. noone that asks me out.. so,, cv <3

  8. get either the 8" cerwin vega ve series sub, or the 8" cerwin vega vega series.. that will bump. i think the kicker beats the rockford:D

  9. Cerwin vega = Bang for the buck/ quality. especially the XLS Series. the bang for the buck. plays loud but needs alot of power to drive them well:D

JBL = good speakers. overpiced and not so much bang for the buck

Dynavoice = theyr are some awsome speakers. ive had the Dynavoice M85 they are good priced and plays loud and god crisp and clear treble. also the bass is banging:D

its what sound you want. realistic and shaky i would go for cerwin vega. they are controlled and puts out loud music. ive go 1 pair of V12,XLS12 And CLSC 15. its the best speakers ive ever had!:D

if you want clear and detailed sound. theres bass but almost nothing go for jbl. (mostly hard bass)

if you want loud and clear, still got the bass hanging there, go for dyynavoice!:D

Pick either dynavoice or Cerwin Vega!

For some reason, I think your opinion might be somewhat biased. You also did not answer the question at hand. I really hope you're not in sales, because this is complete sales suicide.

i thought they was gna get some new speakers. and i told what i thought. not happy with it?.. well i dont care im just saying what i would chose, compared about what ive heard. .. well maybe i didnt understand the question. so stop making fun of people without knowing anything about him...
