  1. he also told me the samething u just relpied. I feel more safe just getting a bigger amp that puts out around 2000rms for these beasts. I did notice the audiopipe1500 gets real hot using the boosts, by the time i got home today it was just a tad warm after pounding hard..
  2. ok fellas i drove 1 hr to columbia sc today, its a audio shop that be open 7days a week.. Got the gains set today. Ended up not having to use boost. The gain is actually on 1/4 now. Kinda of close to the halfway mark. I had it way down below 1/4. Sounds very clean, hitting hard and picking up the lows. Someone posted earlier on this topic and said the same thing i was told today. On them sa-12 i need around 2000rms to really give what they want. So going to upgrade to a bigger amp soon. probally gone be the brz2100
  3. the sa-12s barely even move with no bass boost. they flex only with the boost.
  4. yea its exactly at 1/4, like i say it hit, with no boost.. but with boost man u can hear the windshield shake, rearview mirror. It sound good to my ears
  5. cool just trying to learn bruh..lol Thats cool, just ask questions in more detail, you learn more ok i have 2 sa-12s on a audiopipe 1500 wired 1 ohm. Box i dont no specs buts a nice sub up port back box. I turned up bass boost around 1/4 and the bass freq around 1/4. Ive notice once i turned the boost freq to 1/4 my windshield and car shaking and vibrating things like crazy. I hear alot of talk about not using boost but in my case the boost really makes a alot of difference in my system. If i have it with no bas boost and gain set at 1/4 it dont pound hard at all. Beeen using boost for about a week now with no problems, amps get just a little warm.
  6. can someone explain this setting to me? I been running bass boost on my ap1500 for a couple days now, 1/4 of it.. also i have this freq set at 1/4. Its really shaking and vibrating the crap out my car. It didnt starting shaking things until i turned up the bass boosts freq setting.... the sa-12s are really wanging now.
  7. ok... where could i order this xs power http://www.audiosavings.com/category/Kinetik-Battery.aspx or http://4xspower.com/purchase/ cool... nice price on the khc800 and housing.... would the 800 be good enough for 2000rms
  8. Ground the battery (make sure you sand the metal) Positive from front battery to your rear battery (positive) thats basically it ground your amp. then run another cable from your rear battery positive to your amp positive...its not that hard at all. thanks BDz good info... whats a good agm battery for bout 100 bucks? was bout to go get a 45 buck walmart everlastnp man, enjoy. adding a second battery always makes the bass more "grungier" and low

  10. how to install a battery in trunk? what all do i need to install? Trying to keep voltage up
  11. this. because if you have a dual 2, you can get wither of those amps. but if you get a dual 4, you got to get an amp that is 2 ohm stable or a amp that puts out max at 2 ohm ex. kicker ZX line or if its d4 he could get a rockford 1000BDcp my homeboy getting a sa-12 d2
  12. it pounds real hard with gain up a tad, but i really get ridicoulos with some bass boosts. But thanks fellas going out there now and turn bass boost all the way back down. Think i need to move up to the audiopipe1800d. Try getting them in a spec enclosure, and find an oscope to set the gains. It's not a volume knob to keep turning, what kind of headunit do you have? I installed two SAs on an AQ1200 and they got down.150 watts increase per sub isn't really going to give you that much more performance. Upgrade the electrical, build a good box, and set gains correctly. im using my factory headunit right now until i get my other pioneer 7200hd out my other car into this one. I have 2 towncars, 99 and 01. Its really pounding and sounding good though, just was worried about the bas boost. The sa-12s are in a well designed enclosure. The guy at the shop when he did the install he didnt either use a oscope. He even had the bass boost turned up way ova half way
  13. What if you played music material like rock n roll and the bass was all in the higher spectrum, so you had the gain set lower and used the bass boost to raise the 45hz+ range? Would that be wrong? most of the time, 90%-95% of the time, when you use bassboost it adds distortion.. which is bad... and if some one knowshow to set the gains and use the bassboost with out distortion they wouldnt be asking this question.... so its better to be safe and not use it at all... i asked cause these local guys here dont tell u anything. They say its fine to turn it up. thats why i asked the ? on the forum
