I have been putting a stereo together in my 2008 Chevy Cobalt. I have new subs new deck and some other stuff. but I really need a good bass amp. I am still using an MTX 81000D and it is kinda a tired old amp. sometimes it is temperamental. All my friends are surprised by how well that old amp pounds a couple type R's. I would really like a used T1500-1bdCP or a 1501d, pdx-1 1000, I am open to suggestions to. I just would like a 1000-1500 watt amp at 2 ohms.
Thanks

i have a MTX 81000d, and I cant find a bass knob for it. Ive looked on crutchfield, sonicelectronix and i cant find it. does anyone know where i could find one?
Hey Wolfpack, I was wondering if you had found a bass knob for that 81000d yet? I have been looking for one too, and can't find one, really makes me with I would've bought one with the amp. I really love this amp, its got more than enough power to push my two Alpine Type R's at two ohms, but I don't like not being able to go ham when I want and/or take it easy when I need to. Let me know if you've found anything and I will keep you updated on my search.

Hopefully this is my last dumb question for the day... If you only had money to do one (like me right now) what would you do first add a cable or add a battery?

not sure why you need pix, however..... run a length of wire from back of alt, to batt (I think you said your stock batt is in rear possibly) then do the needed grounds, and your BIGIII is complete. Remember, your not removing any factory wire, just adding onto what is currently there....
Thanks, What gauge wire do you recommend adding?

Anyone got pictures?

Has anyone ever added bigger wire from the alternator to the battery(trunk)if you have i would really like your insight on this project because I have started a build in this car but I need to add a battery or pull bigger wire and do an alternator before I add a second Amp.
Thanks

I would like to find a Alpine MRP-M2000 to power my Tyope-R's. I am still satisfied with my old amp just think I need a little more power.
