oh ya, he did a stinger 300amp alt for that car too, if u got stock alt that amp will hate you for some time lol,
they do power and then some with good electrical
for my car? where did he get the alt from? all i can find is a h.o. 220 amp alt for 438 around..
(also i looked up the shuriken batteries..to me they are just as expensive as xs
1 shuriken SK-BT120 is going for 300 (120 amp hours for 2400 watt systems)
1 xs d3100 is going for 327-350 (2500 max amps..i heard could power 5000 watt system)

Oh i hope so! my back window in my truck was already acting like it wanted to pop out but i hope i can actually pop it out now.. haha..
Of course.. it could be just because it is such a old truck.
lol, just make sure you shoot a vid for the first ground pounding so we all can see that window break

Check surrounds of the woofers and be sure they are bolted down as tight as possible. Also try applying pressure to each side of the enclosure. If applying pressure to the enclosure puts an end to the sound you are hearing then you know where the fix must be made. If it happens to be the surround then there may be a fix to seal it or at worst recone if anyone can make a recone for them. If not you may end up having to buy a new woofer.
yea, because i was banging one day then all of a sudden i heard this weird ass noise like it was coming from the box...came to find out underneath the speaker there was a crack on the plastic that you wouldnt really see..but it made i big deal when the sub was hooked up..luckily i could get the SPAIR..you might wanna double check your sub :/
-
Looks like it's time for new woofers and box!
i dont know how many times you've tried it but you might want to remove the subs and make sure they are sealed...possibly look around them because they could be messed up..does it do this when you put other subs in the box or just with that sub? you might want to try and build another box before you start smashing up your old ones.

hey kevin, hit me up when and if you meet up with stang...i wanna test mine too

Great site. I have used them for all my past kicker gear and never had a problem.
alright thanks a lot! so far its the cheapest i've found that also offers warranty from kicker and the website.

what happened to kickers 10,000watt rating on the solo X 18? even if it was max it should still take 5,000RMS.
good luck with the recone mate, glue would have worked too, but would have broken eventually as well.
well i bought this used and its old..so im guessing it was played hard for a long time?! that is what i thought at first when it happened..oh well though..going to wait til next week to order a new SPAIR
-
yea, i have my sub completely apart right now..i guess ill wait until next weekend when i get my taxes back to get the recone. this was just going to be a temp. but thanks to all once again.
has anyone heard of this site? seems cheaper and a kicker authorized dealer so i get a year warranty from kicker and 90 day from website

yea, well i went to my local audio store..they said they couldnt repair..they would have to send to kicker..all in all would be about 60 bucks not including kickers price to repair it. he told me a lot of people use silicone and it has been working for them. so i went to lowes and bought some ultra plastic bong glue and some silicone..i applied the plastic glue first then applied the silicone afterwards..im going to wait until tomorrow to hook up the sub to see what the outcome it..most likely looks like i am going to have to get one of the re coning replacements kicker offers. anyone know if the newer models cones with fit the older?
THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYONE WHO REPLIED TO HELP!! IT WAS GREATLY APPRECIATED

Post pics of damage please, it's hard to make an accurate assessment without a picture.. Just check ebay for recone kits, they are likely the cheapest you'll find.
here are some pics
in the first pic you can see my finger next to it. it is cracked all the way through

alright i have a 18" solo x in my 3000gt powered by a Memphis Mojo 4000 watt amp. so i was doing a demo for my cousin and as i was leaving all of a sudden my sub made a weird ass noise...well after hours of peeling the box apart and opening up the sub we found out that under the cone there are these plastic pieces holding. well the top right one cracked!! is it possible to glue this back(if so what type of glue and or strats please) if not i guess i will need a re-cone kit..(if i do could you point me to a website or store that sells them cheap) i am about 45 min away from sac.. thanks to everyone that responds!! greatly appreciated.
