how big is your room?
-
i got the box built built for 4 running 3 right now each sub seeing ~7 cubes port at 12 per. it sounds pretty damn good. tl it legal at 151.2 @36hz, 151.1 34-39hz, 148.6 @ 29hz (wondering now if its dropping from my subsonic filter) burping one after another. subs not heating up.
cant wait to recone that last one to drop my load.
-
i got in my recone order today. awesome prices great product! i just loaded up 3 of my 1v15 18s one more going in as soon as the recone comes in.

how do i become a team member?
-
thats more like a folded horn.

the 15s gonna be rough orientated sub front in a civic. ok im gonna go with it and say with the power you have lvl4 if you can get her in solid.
btw 12s to 15s tuned to the same thing with the 15s using a weaker motor on stronger soft parts will act totally different tuned to the same. even 12s to 15s on the same parts have totally different characteristics.

sorry about that but there are just too many things to consider.... are you just going for numbers? are you going for daily? are you going for supper low? what kind of box are you going for? how much space are you willing to loose? and on and on...
-
so build it and tell us what wins.

im getting so tired of vs. threads. especially when the thread maker gets pissy... TOO MUCH VARIABLES!!!
-
playing with it. the lowest sensitivity reading is at 58 volts. dont know if that means anything.
-
i was just about to ask you if you would sampo on your system i hope that scope doest fry any short out back to the amp. it loads at 500k ohm hopefully it doesnt fry those little leads that it comes with.
-
accuracy as in how fast it reads and how easy it is to see the wave. i doubt any scope no matter how shitty would show a clean audio signal clipped or vise versa. a sine wave is the simplest task for a oscope. im just worried if it can take high voltage input.
i also bought a scope for my computer but im not daring to hook it up to a big amp yet.
-
Just make sure your car is running
FUNNY GUY!!! yes... no matter how well you tune up it wont help shit if the cars not started. subs go POOF!!!
-
im not to anal about the accuracy for tuning stereos. i just want to see the wave clipping... just dont want to hurt anything testing.

i think itll be ok on my highs amp but thats a ton of volts coming from a sub amp. i wouldnt care about blowing the nano. would suck if i blew my amp from this thing.

talking about this guy http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130395425675&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
i picked one up for shits and giggles but im not to sure about putting this on my 11k2d. im just wondering if anyone here played with this scope on big amps yet.

very very nice. another DC boto jerker indeed

im building my box on the small side due to space restrictions. i want to get my port to 16 per cf. but no way can i get there without stuffing.
would like your guys thoughts on stuffing ported boxes. ive only stuffed sealed boxes.
edit: i want to stuff the box with poly fill to get the subs to see a larger enclosure but dont know how it will react in a ported enclosure.
-
and a remote wire or whatever way you want to turn it on.
-
depending on how big the box is, power your using and what freq you want to produce.
depending on what subs your using.
from what ive seen at rms typical results are:
larger ports peak higher but peaks steeper
larger boxes pulls the band to lower freqs (to a point)
smaller ports are easier to generate lower freqs
again this is what ive noticed but different subs will yield different results.
atomic apx is one of those that threw me off. i got better results with a large box with smaller ports vs. smaller box with larger ports overpowering it.
-
good to know. im shooting for 5-5.5 because of space restraints.
did you try shrinking your ports? with bigger boxes i found going smaller on the port, around 10-12 per gave me better results to the ear and meter.
-
i have 240 sq inch of port for just 2 of my lvl 5 18s, and the box is 16 cubes after displacement
seems 15 sq inch per cube is a good number to go by..
and 35hz has worked the best for me, it kills the lows, and kills up to about 45 hz
youve said on other threads to go 5.5 on bigger power???
ive got bashed for saying go 8 cubes with a lvl5 18. how do you like yours with that much power going to it?
i also just picked up 4 lvl5 18s

i dont see a video...
ahh... took forever to load.

would be nice to know what kind of power your playing with, goals, vehicle and how much space your willing to loose.
