cubic feet and port area in inches. let others chime in also as our tastes are different.
-
please stop.
7cubes is too much for that amount of power even if u had 10sq inches of port area on it. ><
I am almost certain that Boilermaker and 2000Lade know more then you and i would just stop if i were you.
EDIT: and not care for a XXX?
You could of better gave it to me.( a XXX is a SQ sub so not meant for a lot of power.)
im fully aware what the xxx was made for but why not push it for testing? greg put 4k clamped to this sub no problems. so i just pushed it just a little further. anyways im getting the custom coils for the xxx to see what it can really do.
-
why the pissing contest? did you guys give any advice??? with rise that sub wont see all that power.
i know quite a bit but hay im loving to learn from whatever you got to say without all the ball bashing.
-
o look a big box and a lot of power.........imagine that it failed. minus the fact that he was dumb enough to put that much power on a XXX.
i didnt really care about the xxx. didnt you do things like that just for fun?
-
Are you really that stupid as to not see why he said that? Obviously so... Hey, dual, read and comprehend...
my bad... well at 7 cubes port wouldnt be so bad at 12-13per.
-
LOL
THere is no such thing as THE best sub.(i think it's the DDZ but there are a lot more woofers that can handle great amount of power.)
i just wanted to see what that sub could do.
-
LOL.... ive built many boxes for 18s daily and that my son is way too big. u realize how much port area you would need to not be tuned at 10hz lol
why the hell would you tune at 10 hz? well to each his own i guess.
-
why is what im saying wrong? ive been building for years
-
an 18? for daily music i would build 7-8 cubes. WTF are you talking about?
-
well my plans were a dc lvl5 18 with a audioque 3500.1 to it would that be ok on daily music
looks good to me. thatl get plenty loud for "daily". what kinna car?
that set up would get me in the relm of wanting more. if your not going to compete and strictly be a daily beater i would go with 4 cheaper 12s. itll take about the same air space with more cone.
-
not if you tune right. the pioneers sound better in a little bigger box with bigger ports. i would go 2 cubes for the 12 net with 32 squares port area tuned at 36-38
-
how much power? how much space are you willing to give up?
i have an rexxx 18. gets low as hell but it needs a huge box. doesnt get supper loud but very liner. also it cant take a ton of power as i blew mine in a smaller box cracking about 7k to it.
-
how does the port differ on size of the box? ive noticed the larger i go on the box the smaller ports yield better numbers.
-
i see. off topic but why did rf stop making such a great sub?
-
what exactly is a team rf sub???
-
you may have tweeked the basket by tightening the basket too tight. pull the speaker out and see if you still have the sound during free air.
EDIT: sorry. i didnt read the whole thing. where did you locate the eqs?
-
wrong, they are both needed. an alt doesnt react nearly as fast as a battery. but the answer is, a battery does help with headlights dimming but it does more than that. your making sure your electrical system can function with the added current draw.
your right. i was just implying to his lights dimming.
-
the batteries a band aid an alt is the fix.
although the battery will help with dimming lights if your planning on using a crap i mean cap.
-
more spiders will help control that beast.
-
how much power did you put to it before you bottomed out?
-
with 8 10s, 2000+ you should be well at 146+
-
happened to me.
-
can you chop it out bigger? i would go around 64 square for your box and sub setup.
any thoughts on capacitor

what do you mean you have it set at half? gain at half or you scoped your settings at half?
