    prefab means pre fabricated meaning a box that is mass produced.

    ask people how to MAKE A BOX instead of making another thread on what box from ebay you should buy.

    like i said before, these boxes have VERY LITTLE port area. port area allows your woofer to breathe essentially i guess you can call it. too little and itll choke, performing like crap. there are so many members on here that are willing to help you build your box (by giving tips and hints) if you just ask, instead of being "i dont know how to do it so ill buy one"

    Okay you still didnt answer how the thing owuld look....

    prefab means buying a box as opposed to building one so any box that you just go buy would be a prefab. lol

    but based on that sentence just buy the one on ebay lol

    lol...that showed the world how nooby i am!

    anyways, i want a box that is going to get low and loud.

    I have a feeling whenever i buy on eBay that its going to F.A.I.L....will i?

    edit: i'll build my own box the second time around, but the first time..im buyingone.

    Well i've never built a box :P and i honestly have NO clue what im doing....

    I didnt even know these were prefab

    blah this is hard to decide what im going to do...

    kranny: i've never built a box....and im not sure what to DOOOOO do i make a rectangle and put 2 holes?? seriously im not trying to get an atitude lol i just honestly am lost..

    The atrend site has some good boxes to get, check and see locally if they can order you one at a decent price. They have a coated spl box SPL-12DV that i think is ported to around 38hz, the closest i was able to find from an online store was the 10" for $140.00 so you might want to check and see if you can order one close to you.

    EDIT: Again it comes down to the amount of space you have available to you.

    Thank you for the link, i am looking at the spl boxes, how much room would i need? Like how much port room etc.

    Okay so i was looking on eBay for boxes and well, most people said they wont be good most likely..but i found this one, its made with:

    HEAVY DUTY 3/4" HIGH DENSITY MDF wood

    thats ually what people build them with, so i thought maybe this one is good??

    thats why we're here, to help you learn. i used to be in the same situation as you, but now boxes are the easiest thing in the world lol. give us your space dimensions and the vehicle you drive and someone here can help you design one.

    the most basic tools you would need for a box would be a jigsaw (to cut the woofer holes), drywall screws, caulk (to seal up air leaks), titebond glue, a drill for screwing in the screws and drilling the holes, and a regular circular saw isnt needed but makes things way easier.

    alot of places like Lowes and stuff can cut your wood for you but theres sometimes a small charge for each cut and sometimes there isnt a fee at all, you just pay for the $20-30 sheet of 3/4" MDF.

    The car i mentioned above, mercedes benz e350 and the demensions im not quite sure yet, as i stated i am going to measure them tonight. Does the box have to go all the way to the side of the trunk?

    I think i'm set with the tools.

    what ever you do dont buy one of the prefab in general boxes especial not a ported one. ported boxes are great for spl and such but need to designed for the particular application. the generic one never sound great only ok at best. besides they are usually made from very thin wood.

    Would anyone know a box builder who can bbuild me a box in like the 80-120 range or something?

    This is a tad on the smaller size but should do ok till you can get one made for the subs and if the port size is what i think it is its tuned to 35hz.

    EDIT:Not sure if the sizing is correct for your ride since you haven't mentioned what you have.

    Its a mercedes benz e350, you think it'd fit? I have to measure tonight.
