[building a box]

are you gonna wall the car off or are you gonna have the box in the trunk? if its gonna be in the trunk you most likely wont be able to fit multiple 15's or 18's in there and have each woofer have the proper amount of space. i hope you arent trying to be like those other guys down south that have old cars with shitty paintjobs and rims with like 400 woofers in the trunk rattling everything apart.

it does look ported yes but it isnt it has the plexi glass on the back, iv never seen a bandpass like this before. but i have no amp atm. im running the 2 10"s off my sony home stero, but i figure since the 10"s are just like the 12" it would work just so i kno it works. but i cant get any sound to come thru it.. idk how these subs work but iv had subs like this hooked to my sony stero before, do you have to have these hooked to a amp for them to work since they have the 2 sets of terminals??

alright i got some (new to me) subs off craigslist today. alright first. i got a 12" MTX Thunder 8000 for $25. is that good?

sorry for the bad pics.. and i got a question, how do i hook this sub up? if you look in one of the pics you can see there are to things where you can hook up ur speaker wire but theres two of them. why?

and i got 2 10"s in a bandpass box for $40 there MTX Thunder 6000. same with these subs there is two spots where you hook wires to but they have a wire going from one of the positives to one of the negatives then the other positive and negative on the sub thats where ur speaker wire goes. im so confused iv never had subs like this.. please explain to me..

lmao! yes my name is a super fail aha, its a kenwood sub im not sure on exact model. ha uhm i rather not say what amp.. quite embarressing.. at least it will be better then not having one.. im not worried bout hearing the bass on the outside just the inside..

hey guys hows it goin, well i got a question, i got a 600 watt sub and im going to buy a amp not an expensive one just a cheapy atm low on funds.. :[, well anyways my sub is 600 watt it says on it.. well if i get a 500 watt amp i will be underpowering the sub right? and can this mess up the sub if i underpower it or will it only mess up if i over power it? im really sorry for all my nooby posts and stuff im only 15 and somewhat new to car audio.

your best bet is to do some more research read through this and other forums and maybe google? Good luck I am sure you'll get it figured out. If you had enough creativity to use a cardboard box you'll be fine with wood (mdf). Just use the trial and error method. Good luck.

What kind of amp will you be using?

like i said for computer so no amp will be used. im so bad at math so you say 4 cubes after ported. idk what that is.. can you just tell me about how many inches high and how many wide and how many like deep? ok of course it has to be at least 15.5 inches or so high or whatever cause the sub is a 15 inch woofer. so like about 16 inches on each side:? like front back sides and top and bottom? im sooo sorry if i sound so confusing im just so new at this im 15 and a major noob. i have no idea how to build a box.. iv been useing a cardboard box as my sub box.. which acctually has let it bump but i just want to try at making a wooden box for it.

well the woofer comes from like a home audio system like speaker system. but bumps really good its for my computer, it is for a stereo like for ur home but im gona use it for my computer. i just want the sub to have its own box and i want to know what kind of box do i make and how big should i make it so the box isnt to big or to little for the one 15". idk about bandpass thats why im asking. all i want is a simple ported or non ported box. wat do you guys think i should use since my woofer isnt exactly name brand and it isnt made for cars. and yes ther are lowes around me how much is mdf? or whatever mfd whichever. and its about how much? and how many sheets do i need for one 15"?
