My older Soundstream XXX has a 4" coil. The 18's, I'm not positive.
After I reconed mine, I dropped it in my box, hooked it up to my SAZ-3000D, and fried one of the coils. When I dropped the sub in, the sub got hemmed up on the cutout for the enclosure and one of the wires came out from the basket terminals.
The one coil lasted a good ten minutes or so before it finally gave. 8500RMS, I'm not sure 100% on, but it can take a bit of power.

Oh wow, bro! That sucks! You could replace the bags, but use different brackets so nothing rubs. That's key in air setups.
Or if you want to go back to coils, you could even try to find the police coils from the Chargers. I'm not sure if they have upgraded suspensions as far as that goes, but I know the older Caprices did.
-
Only reason bags would pop would be due to something rubbing on them.
I'm assuming you used the UAS strutbags?

Oh, its coming soon! lol as soon as I get my tax return back I am getting some 10,000K bulbs, found a site with slim ballast kits for $170 shipped
10,000K is pretty crazy. I have 8000K and it's a little difficult to see at night.

You could even check with some local metal yards to see if they have some perforated or expanded steel. I may be doing this with my xB.
Looks good! It's definitely something different for a Mercury!
BTW, I always thought those cars (Taurus', too) would be great candidate for an HID retrofit.

Reinforced frame + chained rear + coilover rear = siiiiiiick.
I want to see the trunks!
There's a guy out here with a Monte with (I think) 4 pumps and 14 batteries. Car's sick.

lol Im getting ready to add some more pics I found of the build of the van to that thread as well. lol
GET ON IT!!!
I should post a build log on here... I've put it up on other fourms.
-
yeah thats what they did first but after the concrete and steel and batteries it still didnt help so they added some coils then said fuck it and put the steel bump stop/rods in there IIRC. But I dont think youll have that problem as you said lol
I'm not sure if he's going that extreme, but that build is nothing but!!!
And damn you for having build logs in your sig... Now I HAVE to go through them.

You could run helper bags from a company like AirLift or Firestone. I'm not sure if they make a bolt on kit, but it's an idea. IIRC, the rear leafs are a mono leaf setup that are composite instead of steel. If you have a spring shop in town, you could pull off the composite pieces and take them to the shop. They'll be able to make you new, heavier duty leafs.
*edit*
Yep, found the kit:

I'll have to check out the video when I get home. Work computer blocks EVERYTHING!!! But it's still kind of odd that the rear moves that much. Hmmm...
And the watts link, from what I saw on the old Totally Polished website, they were getting around about 12" of lift. 12" is plenty even if you're body dropped.

Jonny joints are the shizzzz. I had a wishbone link in my fullsize that utilized 1 jonny joint and 2 urethane bushings. Granted, I sold it before I had it on the road, but pushing on it I got no side to side movement.
PM me some pics of your setup BigP. I'm not on here a lot, more so ROE, but it's been retarded lately...

i myself personally WOULD NOT !! , there aint much left of that truck , he says its has a 4link AND a panhard bar , you use a panhard bar for a 2link, so it sounds like he doesn't know what he is talkin about on his own truck !!! you would have to put a pretty good amount of money to get it driveable, so my suggestion is to buy a complete truck and bodydrop it yourself and get new air suspension parts , 7 out of 10 times with a truck in that shape ,your buying someone elses nightmare, thats why they didn't finish it . you never know but if you price it all out , the difference between that one and one you can pick up for real cheap but running and functional, i am pretty sure you will see it would better to let that one go and get something like i mentioned !!! think long about it before you fork your cash over............. good luck
It could have a parallel 4 link that would still necessitate a panhard but you'd still be better off with a watts link, but that's besides the point.
Good call on not getting it. I bought a full running and driving 91 s-10 with the 2.8L v6 for $500. Like it's been stated, you'd be MUCH better off doing it your way.

yeah thats a good kit, I have that on the front of my jetta.
I worked for a shop that did a bit of business with Universal Air. I've never used their bags for their struts, but they seem to be pretty straight forward.
AIM/ChassisTech is a large company, but as been stated, their product is somewhat lacking. I think they're kind of the elemental designs of minitruckin...

It's the "R"! It stands for reverse post. The + and - are reversed. It all depends on where your + and - are on your stock batt.

I have a Kenwood KVT-815DVD for sale. I've had it for a couple years and it's sat in my closet for those couple years. I bought a new car and decided to throw it in. It works great. I wish I didn't have a double din openning in my car.
Anyway, I'd like to get $600 shipped in the continental U.S. for this. I paid close to double that a couple years ago for it, but that's how stereo stuff goes. I also have the ipod adapter for it that I'll throw in for free!!
I have this listed locally as well.
Thanks for looking!

I bought 5 pairs of 1/0 terminals from jasonw30. I think I sent paypal friday or thursday (I seriously can't remember. Busy week) received them today.
More than happy with my transaction. I'd recommend him any day of the week!
Thanks again!

^^THat's what I said! I originally wanted 10pairs but could only get 5. I'm happy none the less.
Got them today, bro! Thank you much!

Hell yeah.
Last time I was in Sacto I wanted to stop by. But the girl I was with at the time wanted to do Glamour shots instead.
Women.

I totally spaced FBI.
Probably down the street from ya, too!

If that rollpan doesn't fit right, check out Grant Fab. They're down there in Cali and make great product.
Gotta do a little welding, though.
But that's why you got a new welder!

And I admit, I too, think they're pretty hideous. But that's me.
You can guy the wheels like they have in the websites, but they're not real. OEM is where it's at. Ask any real lowrider guy and he'll say he'd rather have a fleetwood 2door bench in his deville than the stock deville bench.

I've had 2 daily drivers with shaved handles. Choke cable is far superior to using a solenoid, IMO.
