When u double ur power u will be lucky if u gain 3db at most adding 1k especially when u get up to the 3.5-4k range isnt going to make a significant difference and I would take 4 12" in well designs box on 2.5k before to 2 15" It would be much louder from the cone area alone even tho it has 1k less power
-
i'd go with the 15's. cone area is significant, but i think 1000 watts of power difference would be a lot more significant.
plus i hear that 15's play a little deeper.
15" have nothing to do with playing "deep" 10s can get just as low as 15s in the right enclosure if u thats what u mean by "deep" i dont see 1000 watts making a difference if any at all
-
Most likely 4 12" will be louder bc of the supior cone area but like u said depends on install, box design,if u have electrical for 3.5k, ect

No longer trading MODS PLZ LOCK
-
They will handle every bit of that t4000 get a design from a member on here i recently got a design from RAM-designs i would recommend him the design was great looking havent built it yet but i bet it will sound even better but there are several members who do great designs
-
Ok so I decided to go with xl now but I still want 15s 2 of them would that be better
Your getting there but i just dont think have the space for 2 15", 12"s are more in your space ported i have a good size trunk in a pontiac g6 and i cant fit 2 15"
-
Yeah no frustration then I won't get answer with arguing and yea they will be chocked at first but later with them in a blow trough wouldn't they be ok
no, not unless ur building a wall.
4 15s NEED ~12 cubes NET to work properly. in ur trunk u MIGHT be able to get ~6 or so cubes net...
dont try the "its a bunch of subs it has to be loud idea". go with a nice pair of XL 12s... .
/thread.
Thats the solution to your question you do not have the space in your trunk for the setup your thinking of, take the advice from guys that have been doing this for years.
-
Man I think you should do alot more research about this topic before you waste alot of money i see no way of getting 4 15", 6 12", 2 15" may not even fit as corey said you alt batts wiring ect before you just shove amps and subs into a vehicle
-
How the hell can you fit 4 15s in the trunk of a Toyota Camry? That box would be WAY to small. Plus what is your electrical like? A 4000+ amp is going to draw a lot of power.
X2
-
what kinda car do u have edgar?
toyota camry
I could be mistaking but that's a trunk car good luck fitting 6 12", or 4 15"
-
if i would get 6 12s my box would be 1.18ft and dc recommends 1ft so it should be a good match right?
its not hard to make a box its as simple as getting a design the designer do es everything but cut it out and glue and screw it together just bc you may fit it in there doesn't mean you should take some advice you may have had 2 subs before but I guarantee those 2 subs won't compare to 2 15" xls in a well designed box and you have the feeling of saying I built that box wow that's always a plus in doing it yourself
-
would alpine type r be a better match por my amp
no don't downgrade on quality spend the extra cash and get subs that will handle pwr look at 2 15" dc xls
-
Get 2 15" go ported don't force the 4 15" in shitty sealed box you won't be pleased by their performance most likely get a good design from someone on the forum build you own enclosure wood cost the same wether you build a sealed or ported enclosure you have to pm a dc rep to get pricing, prices don't get disscused publicly
-
Ya amp is underrated I would get level 4s but go ported if you stay with lvl 3s I would get a smaller amp that amp is to much that's almost double the power they recommend
-
can 4 dc level 3 15s handle a rockfort t4000 at 1 ohm in a sealed box at 1.5Ft dc recommends 2.Ft
hmm maybe if you know what your doing but i would recommend it that 1k+ to each woofer they are rated at 600rms a piece and why go sealed?
-
Ha I hear ya man I'm ready for my level 3 15" with upgraded spiders to come in
-
Specs: American Bass website states "2600 rms at 1 ohm" although ive read some clamp tests were gets about 2k at 1 ohm and i would guess around 2300-2500 rms at .5 ohm it will run at .5 ohm daily it does come with bass knob also in great shape
Description/Condition: I would say a solid 9-10 maybe a 9.5-10 cosmetically its in great shape a little dirty and it works flawlessly
What I'm looking for: :looking for a AQ1200d+ cash on your end, rf t1500-1bd, maybe a t1000-1bd+cash on your end I'm in need of an amp for my dc level 3 15" i want something over 1k. Looking to trade only i don't want to sell straight out because i do need an amp just something a little smaller
-
Nice numbers! Thanks man
-
Ok well thanks man if anyone has any number with the lvl 3's feel free to post em
-

did he say it was a quote, or an estimate? if it was a quote, i uld say they should honor it. not saying that to rip them off, but if i tell someone a price that ill sell them something, i sell it for that, even if its a mistake. Its kind of like calling up a person selling a car, and he tells you its $5000 over the phone. Then, you go to pick it up, and he wants $6000. You took the time snd effort to get the money snd go pick up the car, and then the price changes.... not too fair.
Personally, if i was the seller (DC) i would feel thst it was my error, and i hsve to take the punch in the gut, and accept the learning experience.
Lets be real, its probably only a 80-100 dollar loss, in terms of profit margins im guessing.
It could be worse, like if he quoted you 500.00 for a custom 6 alt setup or something crazy like that, lol
You understand what I'm saying completely!!!
Yeah, I don't think he should be worrying about a 100 dollar loss, he should rather want to keep you as a customer
absolutely! A company you lose sometimes and when you caused the mistake its the right thing
-
Id ask to split it.
Just my opinion
Agreed^^^^^^^^
Even if they dont sell it for what you where quoted, it would be good business practice IMO.
Yes even that would have been acceptable they didn't even try to work out anything.
What to get next

I sold 2 12" L7 (like new condition in original box) for 325$ on local craigslist
