i got fosgate 4 gauge wiring with a 80 amp fuse
-
the ohm thing is the biggest thing just wondering if anyone has ever ran any amps 1 ohm and thay were not listed as 1 ohm cause my amp barly getts hot and that seems to be the only way it will work as for the fuse blowing could it just be to small. on the mtx site for a rfl600d the wiring kit it calls for has a 125 amp fuse and i only have a 80 is that why its blowing maybe
-
the sub is brand new when i push on it its still tight and the coil dont make any noise im ganna try a different amp tomorrow.the amp is a mono block ive tried both sides of the channel. just cause a amp does not say its 1 ohm could it still work at 1 ohm and be fine
-
thats how its wired when i got it at 2 ohms still sucks sub in. is it maybe the amp is messed up some how or could it be the power or ground ,rca or remote wire that could cause this.
-
i have my sub which is a dual 2 ohm hooked up pos of one coil to neg of the other one and the amp hooked pos to one coil and neg to the other one and it would just suck the sub in and i had a old kicker sub dual 4 ohm i wired down to 2 ohms and hooked to the amp it did the same thing. when the subs wired to 1 ohm the amp and sub dont even get hot just every no and then the fuse would blow

bump for fuse help or amp help
-
does anybody know whats going on with this amp
-
ok i just got this mtx rfl600 amp from the mtx sale. its a 4 ohm bridge to 2 ohm. my question is i hook subs up 4 ohm and the sub just sucks in when i turn the amp on it does it if i hook it up 2 ohm to but if i run my mtx ts55 to it wired 1 ohm the amp works fine just when i really let the sub eat sometime i blow my inline fuse which is a 80 amp. so should i just get a bigger fuse and just run the amp at 1 ohm
-
Ok, 15" it shall be, as long as you are sure it will fit the sub. Tonight it is then.
i think 16 would be best just to be safe incase im wrong if thats not a problem cause than i know it will fit for sure
-
How do you fit a 15"woofer in a 15" box?
I still need max dimensions. Even though I won't use the full space.
When do you need it by? tonight?
15 is the outer dimensions so the top screw and the bottom screw would be going into the top and bottom piece of the box. the overhang where the screws go in to hold the sub is 3/4 inch. it could go to 16 but no bigger cause it would not fit in the trunk max wide 2feet max deep 3feet any time because ill probable be matting the trunk tomorrow instead of building the box so whenever and thank for all the help i really appreciate it
-
4" wide by 10" high and then however deep it has to be to tune it to 35hz.'
I can design it for you if you give me dimensions.
the only problem is the box has to be 15inch tall everything else can be whatever it takes for 3cube and to have it tuned to 35hz and the mfd is 3/4inch thick
-
yep. It's not that big, 4"s by 10"s.
sorry for all the dumb question but this is the first box im tring to get as perfect as possible whats 4 by 10 mean 4 wide ten deap
-
If the both have the same port area, it will be the same. unless the round one is a aero port.
Maybe just go with a slot port and make sure you have about 14 square inches of port per cube.
so your saying if the box is 3 cube the port should have 42 square inches
-
Well there's your problem. The box is far to small. If it is truly tuned to 35hz, it will only have 1 cube. it should have 2.5 or more. If you make the new box 3 cubes you will notice a huge difference, even with the same tuning.
thank im ganna start building the box tomorrow should i go with a circle port or a slot port or does it make a difference 35hz is 35hz

iv'e heard of crystal mobile thats some pretty good equipment u got
[/quot
thanks man your the only person ive found that knows about that company
-
What sub and amp do you have? How big is the box? A new box should make a huge difference.
the sub is a crystal mobile sounds comp x2 15 and the amp is a older rf amp pushing 1000rms till i get a new amp the box its in now is 19inch by 19inch by 15inch witch is a piss o shit thats why i want to build a new one if u got some advice id be glade to hear it
-
ok i think 35 is the way im gonna go then it sound good now and the guy said the box was 35 that i have now but its a p.o.s box so hopfully a good box at 35 will make it sound better
-
i take it no ones heard of them
-
got another question im trying to find someone whos heard of crystal mobile sounds subs has ayone heard of them if so are thay any good. i have a comp x215 its 1600 watts rms
-
ok thanks ill just probably build it to 35hz then or just make it a ajustable port
-
what would give me more boom i have one 15
-
is there a big difference in say 32hz and 35hz my box is 35 and was ganna build a new one?

thanks for the help im ganna redo my wiring and see if it will run at 4 or even 2 ohms if not ill just upgrade my wiring to 1/0 and a bigger fuse (im pretty sure my brother has a bunch of 1/0 wire lying around) and just go till this amp blows i mean i only paid 40 bucks for the amp at the sale and id want it to last a little bit but if i cant get it to its only a 40 dollar loose
