I just ordered a recone a few days ago, do you have a idea of when it will ship?
I didnt blow the sub, I helped someone move and something punctured the surround. These are great woofers, very impressed!
-
Looks good so far! Any plans for sound dampening?
Thanks,
Whatever deadner I have left over from my comp. vehicle, I will put into this vehicle.
-
4 sa-8 v2s tuned to 29.5 hz, box still needs to be paneled in.
only on a older RF bd1500.
-
come down to stereo palace on 35th ave and cactus. we sell re audio and memphis...
-
i believe skittles R good is running 2 crescendo 3k's to those subs or the XL 12's.
-
it's not good to mount to the box unless you have to but considering your situation you should be fine. your only running 2 rf p1 10's not too much vibration. someone step in and correct me if i'm wrong.
-
those subs should be under $100 each they are cheap i would save up and get something better, thats just me
-
here is a pic of the both of them
-
unless you know all of the specs they won't be the same, easiest to just find 2 more motors and recone all 4 same time
alright, thanks for all the help
-
lol not even close to sundown or DC
tc sounds did a limited number of subs for lighting audio (at the time I think fosgate still owned them) as the "storm" series
this is the same type motor as the eclipse titanium, they also made a neo motor.
the original only came in 10 and 12 and either nomex or aluminum cones
one of lightening audio's show cars has this motored sub in it's trunk with co2 injection to the coils
so these are 1 of a kind set of 18's? or is it possible to have 2 more made?
-
you should have checked the coils before you bought them they could have bad coils but you never know they might be fine. hook them up
I hooked them up before i bought them, they work fine.
-
it can be reconed through fi car audio, or fixmyspeaker.com. take some measurements of the spider landing and vent pole when you take it apart.
ok, thanks for the info
-
did u test the vc with a dmm? what vc are they?
imo they look like they could handle 1kw maybe 1200w?
i haven't had the chance to go to a shop and have them checked, they guy i bought them from didn't know anything...
-
-
can these be re-coned if i happen to blow them or should i just sell them?
-
I thought either that or DC, but the cone (I think that's what its called) can't be, which leads me to think its a hybrid
So them being a hybrid/custom subwoofer are they able to be re-coned to stronger parts? and if so do you know where?
-
i think it a custom sub
and i think the hard part is from lightning audio storm sub
yea i was doing a little research earlier but i could find a lightning audio storm series 18?
I only saw a 10 and 12...
thanks for the input.

I just picked these up for a good price but im not too sure what kind of guts it has. The guy said they were rebuilt tc sounds. Does anybody know what kind of power i can feed these things? they weigh 50.00lbs a piece. any and all help/input would be appreciated. thanks

i've got 4 15's in my buick rendezvous, i'm pretty sure you can fit two 15's in your blazer.

-
