How are all those pictures still on the wall?? haha
I have no clue, but some of them have fallen before.

That is pretty tight and clean! Prior to getting into Cars, I was doing the same exact thing... Mixing Pro-Audio with Home and Studio Gear.
If you can't maximize the mobile... than of course bring it into the house:P Hopefully your parents are as cool as mine were... both with the sound- and with
the fact you are spending all your money on audio:P I cut and landscaped 10 lawns every weekend to pay for my audio addiction... LOL
My mom is okay with it, but when my dad is in the house i cant turn it up that much, especially when i bangin the low 20's. stuff starts getting wicked jelly

RE XXX
54mm xmax
Fs 21
i totally would but way to expensive
-
So what sub would "Dave" suggest for you?
well he did mention the TC sounds LMS-R but thats pretty spendy
-
Not sure of the fs, but the obsidian subs have a high roll surround so I'm assuming has some good excursion ?
Dave said that sub wouldn't really work with the box specs. i thought it would be a good one too.
-
the Skar audio VVX-12 is a pretty beefy sub with an fs of 22hz, the excursion isn't nasty but it moves a fairly good amount on some good power.
i was looking at the skars. they do have very nice fs but dave said a high excursion sub would be better
-
hey guys, im looking for a nice beefy 12" sub with some low f's 20-25 and its gotta have some nasty excursion. i dont care about the power of ohms. and preferably nothing above 200 bucks but if its just that awesome you can tell me. anybody got some ideas?
Not sure if this is what you are looking for...
Can I ask why you want such a low Fs?
ive looked at those before. FI makes some really nice subs but those are IB. would they still work in a ported box? and i want low f's because my box is tuned to 27 and dave the box guy (who designed the box) just told me i need a sub with low f's
ive seen some cheapo CVRs get down in a box tuned to 28hz. i think you'll be ok if you broaden your search area.
im done buying cheep crappy stuff. i want something nice. i want to treat myself for my birthday

What amp and how much power you gonna put to it?
im actually going to be using this sub in my room so i have many options. i have a behringer epq 1200, 3 crown micro-tech 600's and 1 crown micro-tech 1200. i can go down to 1 ohm on the crowns.

Not a chance read the rules
-
what are those beastly little 8"s??? or 10"s??? they look awesome!
-
-
Not on that amp, no..
how many watts at two ohms would i need?
-
As far as i can see that amp IS 2x300W @ 4Ohm
But as he said, if you wire your coils in series(to 8ohms)you could bridge that amp to give 600W at 8Ohms.
That way you are sure to get equal signal on both coils. The power wil split over the coils giving them 300W ea.
could i run my sub at 2 ohms?
-
well u dont want to do a 2 ch unless bridged cuzz u want to wire your coils in series to 8 ohms then and 600 watt mono for this amp:
i was looking at that one but i was thinking something closer to 300 watts @ 4 ohms x 2
-
uh 4 ch, 2 ch, mono?
well my sub has 2 coils. 150-300 watts @ 4 ohms each
-
yes and a small one cuzz it wont draw hardly any amperage
ok sweet, i got a bunch of those. now back to the amp, i want it to have around 300 watts @ 4 ohms. can u help me look? and try not to go over $250
-
computer power supplies for a car amp is not a good idea imo.... yeah they "work" but not really what they are built for and that amp is rated to do
# Channels/Class: 4 Ch. Class A/B
* RMS Power 4-Ohm: 100W x 4
* RMS Power 2-Ohm: 140W x 4
* RMS Power 4-Ohm Bridged: 280W x 2
thats what they say it can do and i call b.s.
soundstreme is basically a swapmeat brand anymore and arent shit so:
heres a pyle homereciever:
now that im looking at these PA amps i think im going to go with one of them instead of a car amp and a PSU.
do u think i could run this off a 12 volt power supply? http://www.amazon.com/Soundstream-BX-10-Digital-Reconstruction-Processor/dp/B0007TJDJI
-
car audio power supplies are not cheap. I would look at partsexpress.com for a rack mount "p.a." amp first.
here is a power supply that would probably work but its not much on the amperage side
here are the pro audio amps they have priced lowest to highest
how about this http://www.amazon.com/TX4-560-Soundstream-4-Channel-Tarantula-Amplifier/dp/B0046LWDLI
with this http://www.allhdd.com/49p2070-ibm-power-supply-1000-watt-for-x-series-new-pull-.html
?
-
Yes, why car amp? I'm curious to why use them indoor, do you just get it really cheap?
im getting a car amp because it has the right wattage and when i done with it i can just use it in a car system. i just thought it would be nicwe to have. and yes i think the price is a good deal.
-
Permission to ask why?
why do i need to get a power supply or why am i getting a car amp for my room?
