  1. If you were to do that, the best way I could think of would be to have a wifi signal strong enough to reach where you park, and have it stream to a computer inside your house with a fuck ton of storage. Better security for the footage that could help get some scumbag who steals equipment caught. Just my .02

That's actually the idea I was playing with. I live in an apartment complex, but set up a secure network with an antenna outside that the computer automatically connects to and syncs up with. That way, if someone steals the truck/any equipment, it has the video right there. There's a way to do it, just have to make it a nice cost-effective setup...

  2. It's illegal to have aftermarket exhaust?

Technically in most states, yes. Here in KY, Kentucky Statute 189.140 subsection 2 states..

    (2) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle or an off highway vehicle in a

manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the motor of such vehicle above that

emitted by the muffler originally installed on the vehicle. The original muffler shall comply with all

of the noise requirements of KRS Chapter 224 and regulations promulgated pursuant thereto. No

person shall operate a motor vehicle with an exhaust system so modified.

As for how Wisconsin's laws go, I have no idea. That's just an example...lol

  3. here's the build log, there's a video in the last post on the first page, and another on the second page.

what part of the box is flexing?

it really doesn't come across as being very loud in the video, are you sure the woofers are all in phase?

Yeah, I'm sure, trust me, I'm not a complete idiot. All I asked for was what material is stronger than MDF, and got my answer. Don't sit here and criticize why my box is flexing, I know why, and I'd rather just learn on my own. Got my answer, that's all I need. Kthanks.

  4. LOL. Did you even click on the first link?

It's just a link warning of some inevitable "Internet Armageddon" that on some certain date some virus will screw up your computer forever. It's just a stupid script that on some date will change your DNS settings so you end up getting forwarded to stupid porn sites.

You get infected with this shit (and most other malware) from using IE and happy clicking that message that says "You've been infected with 32 viruses" or "Click OK to continue".

So, just like every other virus, it's directed towards people who are too stupid to realize all that shit is fake...dumbasses.

  5. pics of box? and bracing?

No pics, videos in my build log. It was virtually thrown together but I did the best I could with it with what I had. Going to do it right next time. Bracing is 1x1 squares of wood top-bottom, and one from that to baffle. Hard to explain, it was a 5 minute fix because my top is one long piece...

  6. Im sorry you shouldn't be getting flex from low power setups ill assume you are running less than 1500 watts

Try 1500 watts dead on  it needs rebuilt, but instead of just doing MDF again and risk having the same issues, I'd like to do it right and still be stronger than what I have now...

But seriously, let's not turn this into a complaint on how shitty it is. I just want suggestions to stronger wood that would work for car audio...

  7. Well, I give up. Tried bracing the shit out of my box, and the fucker still flexes (those SA-8's get down big time  ) plus I need to redesign the box to fit under the seat better...what 3/4" material would work better than MDF? What do you guys use?

  8. Dude, don't worry about audio right now. I'd LOVE to get my v.2's, batteries, wiring, deadener, and door speakers done, but getting my life going in a good path with my chosen career and working on trying to support myself is getting in the way of it. Family/housing first, cars second. You can't live out of your car (comfortably at least, especially if you're doing a wall  )

Well, you could sleep in the port...keep a nice low note going and keep a breeze on...

Best of luck to you man. I'm a first timer to loans too. Working on paying off my truck. If you show you're determined and responsible, I'm sure it won't be a problem for you.

  9. I have a Deka 9a34. But my buddy removed his battery tray and moved his computer over and set a Deka 9a31 there.

Eh, I'd rather not risk frying my truck up.

Yeah you could do whatever size you wanted as long as you rigidly brace it or make something for it to sit in.

But I'm pretty sure an XS D3400 is the biggest that is made to fit

Might have to give it a try then.

  10. Trying to decide the most logical option for my stereo system. Anyone know what the biggest size battery will fit in 99-06 GM full-size vehicles with the 5.3 V8 (battery should be in the front left facing forward on the vehicle) and could recommend a good starter replacement battery? If I can get by with a big enough battery and a large enough alt (200+ amp) it would help, but I don't care to run a second battery (presumably in the rear of the truck I guess...lol
