I'm not sure if you've considered this but you could put on a cap and pull out the back window instead of cutting out the bed.
i did but that would kill the sexyness :/
-
Good luck. And that sub is fuckin sexy!
have you heard one in person?? ohhh my

I really don't know much about designin bandpass enclosures but I don't think you would have enough port area using those holes for 4 15s. Would 4 12s be an option?
oh yes as long as it hard enough just running port thru.. im going to throw my box it the bad and just run the port thru and see what it sounds like and see if its worth going thru with it..

How big are the holes? You could do a 3 chamber single reflex band pass ww.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxes4.asp#5 if the holes are big enough to fit proper size ports through.
the holes in the back of the cab are ummm maybe 4in x 10in but dont qoute me on that haha but theres two in the back of the cab.. and i could cut the bed a little to match them..
-
haha small world (:
and he turn back of his cab into a wall behind the seat and air ported on bottom of cab .. but are you saying speaker to big to fit from seat to back cab wall?
this is a picture of the sub i have now, just to give you an idea...
but i want to do something like more cone area movement for more bard hitting bass..
-
damn i didnt even see that your about a hour away from where i live haha
-
id be careful i have seen a lot people drop in those bigger speaker in small vehicles have them ported wrong and it crack some windows :/ but i know a guy with s10 2x18" subs he got it port on bottom of his cab i wouldn't mind cutting holes threw bottom.
like under the cab? or on the very bottom of the bed to the back of the cab?

you though about custom fiber glass box??? (: idk i dont like it but maybe if ya put little bit money into it have nice custom one. but you see my 10"s they hit nice right >>>??? and 15"s wow u would have to go to your truck bed to get proper airflow and room for them to hit.
well its about a 80lbs sub the XXX is ... i could cut the bench seat and do the box right and make it look good but if i want to go back stock over time then i got to find a bench seat for it and it would be hard to find and costly to ship... i would have plenty of room for two ports to run thru.. just not enough for a proper blow thru

that sh!t is slamming.. awesome video man... i just wish it wasnt sure a big deal to cut the cab to bed but i would throw up if i did... i love that truck to damn much....

see i drive a 1991 toyota pick up truck and everyone tells me make box in bed and cuts holes to my cab i cant do that ): hurting my baby plus i think it would look like crap , BTW i think there some speaker that can fit behind your seat if they fit behind mine and still drop a lot bass. personally i like kicker ive always used it and my kick 10" comps hit pretty nice and fit great in my truck amp is under my seat i am using 4 gauge wiring and 10 gauge sub speaker wire. (:
yea i know what you mean but i want to run (4) 15"... if i go with inside the cab i want to use my re audio 12" XXX sub but the box inside looks like crap on top of the seat but hits like a mofo... i dont know what to do.. lol

ok i dont have the balls to cut my 2003 ford lightning truck to do a proper blow thru.. my questions are if i use the preexisting holes in the back of the cab and match the holes already in the front of the bed to the cab hole and run the port from the box thru there, would that carry alot of bass? i dont have any room to do a loud system inside the cab without hacking my bench seat so the bed is the only other choice.. i know the cone area wont be inside the cab but as long as i have alot of hard hitting bass coming from the port i should be happy.. is there any other way of doing this without cutting ALOT ???? thanks in advance.. and sorry for sounding to stupid
zack
any extra info is much appreciated

Ya I think the 4 12s would be best if your doing a blowthrough. I'm not sure how well the 15s would fit in that truck. But like chapo says 90% install 10% equipment
yea i hear you guys on that.. thanks for the advise

I heat Solo Xs dont like a lot of power. I would definitely go with the 4 12s tho. I wouldnt even have to think about it to be honest
ok seems like everyone is leaning towards more cone area.. thanks
-
its all in the box, but 4 12s have more cone area....
ok oh i should say also that its going to be a blow thru in my ford lightning.. im not sure exactly how im going to do it yet but i have a few ideas.. thanks for the post
