The mids and mid-bass are now in the doors
The Mids are in the factory location so you cant see them but the mid-bass drivers are at the bottom of the door
Behind the doorcard is an enclosure that the midbass units sit in - this stops them fighting with the 6.5's for airpsace
http://samuelellis.cozywebhost.com//gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=27050 - they look a little bit on the massive side dont they
Screen and reversing camera working

Dropped off some 16mm threaded rod yesterday to brace the woofer baffle to the backwall
That is as it stands at the moment

Right update time
Both the passenger and driver doors have had the doorcard and door lining removed awaiting some Loudboy deadening
http://samuelellis.cozywebhost.com//gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=27020
The 6.5 inch mids have been mounted on wood and then mounted to the speaker bracket ready to go back in the door

And a big hole in the spare doorcards

The big hole is for these

Kicker RMB8inch Mids - old skool now as they were made in 2002 but as far as i can tell never out of the box until i got them a couple of years ago and have never been powered up
The 8inch mids are having a small enclosure built around the back of them so they dont fight for airspace with the 6.5's
Its getting close to time when we can power it up properly, set the crossovers etc and actually get some readings on the meter
-
Again sorry about not being able to embedd the pics - i should hopefully get a quick vid of it running in its current nowhere near finished postion today
-
The reason i have not shot vids is that it is not finished yet, it was just a test to make sure it was working
Plus i only had my SLR with me, not my video camera - if i remember tomorrow i will take my video camera

Now an update with pictures
First the back of the car
http://samuelellis.cozywebhost.com//gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=26692
As you can see the box does come a fair bit back but i should get my weekly shop in stiff - if not its an estate so has factory fit roof-rails, in this pic you can see the epic, crossover for the two front amps, some of the batterys (the others are below the enclosure) the sub amp and the distribution/wiring
Looking through the drivers door with the seat reclined
http://samuelellis.cozywebhost.com//gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=26688
Nice shot of the woofers looking in
A very tight tolerance in the woofers - notice how the centres overlap slightly
http://samuelellis.cozywebhost.com//gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=26664
A better shot of the overlap
http://samuelellis.cozywebhost.com//gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=26668
Nice neat work in the enclosure
http://samuelellis.cozywebhost.com//gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=26672
Rear shot of the woofers, notice the steel re-enforcing the port edge
http://samuelellis.cozywebhost.com//gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=26680
Close up shot
http://samuelellis.cozywebhost.com//gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=26676
It has been playing so we know that it works
The playing was a just a test run to make sure it all worked, the amp powered up as it should, all the woofers looked to be moving the same distance but for the volume they were barely twitching, the test run was just off my batterys that were floating at 13.08v at the beginning of the test, after a good 40mins of mild thrashery (only mild as naff all is setup or configured) but the amp did not get warm and the batts only dropped .58 of a volt
The enclosure does not look like it needs much more work tbh as it was playing most of what we threw at it so it will be interesting to see how it gets once everything is setup correctly, we have already had minor steering wheel wobble but it just sounds infinatly more evil than the boot installs of the past, we were expecing Rich having to extend/make a port for the rear chamber but it seems to like playing most of what i listen to (And Rich had a huge amount of fun going through the USB stick of random music i listen to) but the proof will be when the crossovers and epic are set, gain matched and its not just running off battery power
-
i LIKE this! very interesting way you did the wheel wells
its not be building it but they were built as follows
The car hs to be able to be put bac to stock so no fibrelass straight to the metal of the car, instead a layer od masking tape was put over the entire car and then amixture of bodyfiller/fibreglass was layered over, small squares of MDF were cut and embedded in the bodyfiller/fibreglass mix -- then another layer was put over - makes it very strong but gives the maximum space for the enclosure
and these are the woofers going in

Sam, about time you got a youtube channel
Na, the only thing my youtube account si for is to keep track of who i am subscribed to, and dont forget i started doing all this back in the days when realmofexcusion was all .wmv files and youtube had naff all car audio videos uploaded to it so its tradition
Plus a you know it helps with my general principal of allowing people to download the pics/vids of they're cars
Im stuck in my ways and admit it

How do, thought some of you guys would find this interesting, the link below is all the photos and vidoes i got at a the yearly T meet, the Tmeets are ran by a forum called talkaudio and are one of if not THE biggest car audio meets running in the UK (IE the only reason the meet exists is for ICE)
so figured i would give you all a looksie - http://samuelellis.cozywebhost.com//gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=24553

How do
figured you may wanna see some install videos from Over in England (where the steering wheel is on the correct side of the car) but as I have a sod-load of them i will just give you a link to my gallery - http://www.samuelellis.co.uk/gallery2/main.php If you go to the events folder you will find thousands of photos and hundreds of videos over the last few years
comments of the vids/pics welcomed

so here is a video of the car - admitedly it is only running at low power here -
Until it is setup properly and it is running off a battery charger i was not going to risk playing it full tilt
BTW when i talk and the music is on i am shouting directly at the camera and the distortion is the mic in the camera
More to come when it is setup correctly
