Yeah thanks everyone, just a huge relief. I think this was the last time he's going overseas too

So it's been a pretty rough summer over here. My mom has been flipping out everyday because my dad balances her out, so it's not to fun to be around her. June 6th he was deported from his base, and just got back today at 9 o'clock. I'm really just glad he got home before school starts, and he's safe. He's been gone for way too long.
God Bless America.

you do know size has almost no relevance to the power it can handle right?
they are rated that way because of the softparts that are used..
you could always do 2 12s, if you wanted to stay with the Q
if you want to stay around 1500 rms then get the sub rated for it
I already have the Q, just looking for an amp that will do it justice.
Any suggestions?
-
Rms: 1000W
get 2 of them and you will be happy
Yeah I know it's rated at 1000w, but they rate 12-18 at that same one. Mine's a 15 and fully loaded, so I have no clue how much it can actually take.
And two 15's wont fit in the back of my little tibby haha
-
Alright so I have a fully loaded Fi Q and I was wondering if it'd be able to take the Saz 1500. I know the sub and amp are both underrated, and I don't want to buy it if it's too much. Pretty much, should I go with the sundown 1200 or 1500?
-
How long have you had the amp, and did you buy it new? And also could you upload a picture without the side pieces on, just to see what it looks like cosmetically?
-
What were you powering with this amp?
-
Yeah im running all KNU and im building a 6000w+ System.
Order this stuff IMO
Is that all the wire I need for my system? Besides getting some 0 gauge for the big 3?
Random question here, but would it be okay to wire my sundown 1200d to 1 ohm to the Fi Q 15 or is that a no go? The sundown website says it's 1 ohm stable but I just want to make sure.

^ yup yupp. something like this
http://www.amazon.com/Stinger-Shoc-Krome-Gauge-Power-Reducer/dp/B001H4W86C
So what's the point of the reducer? Just getting more power to the amp?
-
that amp doesnt have 0 gauge inputs...only 4 gauge.
get Knu wire, absolutely cannot go wrong with that brand. thats all i run as far as wires go in my car, EVERYTHING Knu and i have no regrets.
12 gauge speaker wire should be plenty for that woofer on that amp.
So I should just get like 20 feet of 4 gauge? And also how much 12 gauge wire?
I'm going to do the big 3 also.
Alex K- Yes your baby haha, I can't wait to get it in! I also PM'd you today about the details for the paypal and payment and everything.

So I'm ordering in my first sub this week, it's a Fi Q 15 fully loaded going in the back of my '03 tibby. I'm going to power it with a sundown sax 1200d, and I just need to know what wires I need to hook everything up. I wanted to get Knu wires, but I just don't know anything about which ones i'll need. Right now I don't have any, so links or advice or anything would be really help. Thanks guys, and must say I love the forum.

I'm really liking this one. And also I think I might want to get the Fi Q instead of SSD. It has 1000 Watt RMS instead of 800. Think it's good idea? And also ported or sealed? Should I get it wired at 1 ohm because it can push 1200 or should i get it wired to 2 ohms bringing it down to 800 watts.

the price is about the same as a 15 ssd just depends on where u live give dc a call and they will help u out thats wha i did
I'm thinking about getting the Fi SSD, but what ohms do I get, the dual 1 or dual 2? And also what about the other options to add BP Power and a Flatwind coil, should I go for those or no?
-
yea im getting a lv 3 and the type r is not even asteticaly attractive
edit fi blt 18 is
Price: $ 414.00
Yeah I remember that I was looking at the BTL, but how much would a DC lv 3 be for a 15? That's what's sounding the best right now. But for everyone, Fi or DC?
-
y buy that when u can get a fi ssd cheaper and it will own that sub? or even a dc lv3
I went to the Fi website and took a look at their subs, but the 12 came out to be like $414
-
bro please dont spend 200 for the old one.. the new ones that just came out (2010) are 200 something lol
I didn't even know they were out man, haha. Where can I find them?
-
I was just wondering what type of amp I should get for this sub.
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_4194_Alpine+SWR-1542D.html#tabs
It's an 15 Alpine Type R, and I plan on getting another in the future. Some said that I should just use the amp I get for the first sub to power my highs and mids and then buy another one when I'm ready to upgrade. I just want to know what specific sub I should get to power this baby.
-
thats more then half your budget bro on two subs..you buy an amp, to push those right, 250...that leaves you just over 100..for wires and HU....just sayin...
Would it be better to just start out with one 15 and upgrade from there? Someone mentioned it before and it sounds like a good idea.
-
Okay, I've decided to go with the two 15 alpine type R's. What type of amp should I get two power the subs? I also think I'm going to get a ported box, good choice or no? Would I need to get another battery or something to power the subs, and also what type of wires should I get and how much will they cost?
Thanks again guys, you are a HUGE help!
Link again for the subs-
