  1. G'day people, new to buying gear on this forum but I have been lurking for some time haha. Looking to start up a fairly decent system and am interested in buying either 8 DC 15's or 6 DC 18's. I'm looking for XL or higher, but if someone has a nice deal on a lower level I'd definitely be happy to hear them out. Honest;y, I have no idea what the subs are worth, so I'm not offering a price I'm afraid.

Unfortunately, there is another downside. I live in Western Australia and will also need a price shipped to 6171, Perth Western Australia. I'm NOT asking the seller to pay for shipping (Although, if you'd like to offer ;)

Also wouldn't mind seeing what people are asking for DD subs, 9515's/18's. Thanks everyone :)

  2. Bro just find a distributor that will ship to you. I bet if you threw some emails out to stores someone would do it.

Wouldn't even know where to start :( I don't know any U.S. distributors unfortunately, and I can't find anything on ebay. Having the same problem with a Hifonics bxi2610D amp

  3. Hey guys looking to buy 4 Powerbass 4xl 65-92 6.5" mids.

I only want new ones, so what I am willing to do is get you to buy the set of 4 and I will pay you 10% on top of what you paid, and postage to Western Australia. Before I pay for them I would like pictures of receipts or something to prove the cost of them and that they are what I asked for.

I am a DEFINITE buyer, I want them as soon as possible. So if there is anyone I can trust to do this, then thank you VERY much. If you don't trust ME, then I am willing to pay a discount if you can have anyone back you up as a cool guy :P

Thank you VERY VERY much to anyone that is willing to do this

  4. Hey mate you were recommended to me by Fecupe :)

I'm looking for a high output alternator for my 2002 Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback. I believe it is a CE. I'm looking for an alternator that can put out anything over 165 amps. If you are able to get me one I am willing to pay good money haha. If you are able to make a set of brackets and pulleys for extra cost, just let me know the prices seperately. In case I can just make them myself. Thanks heaps man :)

  5. Yeah dude, Almani is cheap but it´s great! i have a 1100.2 on my sexplorer and a 800.4 on the swift, they are loud, sound very nice and they are cheap as hell!! If you use 4 tweeters 4 ohms on the almani amplifier, you wire it stereo 4 ohms giving them 75 watts to each one, then, you add 4 more tweeters and use 2 tweeters per channel, you wire the amplifier to 2 ohms , his means you have 8 tweeters on a single amplifier, that´s what i mean thinking on the future :peepwall:

That alternator is EXPENSIVE as hell, dunno about that brand, check mechman alternator, they have a room on this forum, they´re supposed to be the best alternators around here and way cheaper than that one !!!

Why 6x9??? they suck ass!! haha, try to get some mids as i told you that fit on the OEM hole, they are louder and sound better, if not, try at least to get some nice component kits, but 6x9 are overated :trippy:

Alright awesome thanks :D $350 is expensive? Thought it was fairly cheap haha. I'll check out mechman tonight, thanks. Haha alrighty then I shall do!

  6. Ebay my friend, you can look around on audiosaving, caco and stuff like that, but ebay never misses!!! :peepwall:

Yeah, that coustic amp has some nice specs, a friend of mine used that brand and worked very nice, all the recommendations i did it´s to have a LOUD "small" system now, and you can upgrade later, for example, you can use the coustic on 4 smalls tweeters, later, you can add 4 more if you want to get crazy and wire it @ 2 ohms, same thing with the almani amp!! I upgraded my swift to a big ass system and i didn´t spend any money on mids/highs amplifiers, just added 4 more mids and highs exactly like the ones i had before and i was all set :drinks:

Anyways, yes, ebay it´s a great option, also, you can find a LOT of things cheap here, just look for the sellers reviews on the forum and you can know who you can buy from very easyly, i really like a system like i recommended you, you´ll be amazed how loud you can get with less than 1500$ , i envy you guys, here everything it´s expensive as hell!!!

Oh cool thanks for that. I did see the Almani amp on ebay, nice and cheap too! Even the postage was a good price. Might need to order that in tonight :P

That's good to hear then, wasn't too sure if the guy that sold it to me was bullshitting me when he said it was good haha.

To be honest I havn't wired up much myself so what is it you mean when you say later I can add 4 more tweeters and wire them to 2 ohms? :P Sorry to be a pain in the ass haha, I just want to learn this sort of stuff. I found this last night when I was taking a look and wondered if it would be the type of alternator I need, as in amperage. http://storesense1.mysuperpageshosting.com/HS13162/Detail.bok?no=696

Think I might go for the Powerbass L-6903x 6x9's for my doors, I should be able to make them fit with a little bit of cutting and such. God I can't wait for pay day, can only afford the Almani amp and the Subs at this stage. Still trying to find a place to buy the hifonix amp :(

Thanks for everything man you are a great help.

Also here are a few pictures of what I have already.

  7. 2 15´s without even knowing if he has the space for a proper box???

You are barely starting, but you have to think on the future, it kinds of suck when you get use to your system and want more (maybe a month old for me haha) and you didn´t take precautions about it; i would get some very good and loud speakers, nice small subs and a good amplifier with some nice power for an upgrade :peepwall:

    Something like:

4 Powerbass 4xl 6.5" mids (if they fit on the doors): 160$

4 Cadence CVL tweeters, i had a pair and they sound awesome : 140$

Leave the poweracoustik for the tweeters and buy a nice cheap amp for the mids, i use Almani and that shit it´s great for the price.

    Almani 800.4 : 120$

For the moment, you spent 420$ and you are set with the mids/highs and you have room for upgrade on the future :peepwall:

Then, i would get some Alpine Type R´s , those subs pound hard for the price!! I dunno you available space, but i don´t think it would be too difficult for you to fit 2 12´s on that trunk, i would get a big ass box with a low tuning, so you can change to a top line subs whenever you want and still play nice without changing the box.

    2 Alpine Type R´s 12" DVC 4 ohms: 250$

About the amplifier for the subs, there´s so many nice options that it´s more difficult to give you an opinion, in my case, i LOVE hifonics brutus amps, they are way to cheap for the power they can give you, i would get a bxi2610D for 310$ brand new and you can buy another one on the future and strapp them for an upgrade.

    Bxi2610D : 310$

So far, 980$ and that shit is pounding VERY NICE, a lot of money to build a nice box, wires, RCA´s , even a nice Kinetik or Powermaster battery and maybe a better alternator!!

Or you can just forget about upgrading later and build a monster setup right now,but imo if you are learning about this, i would just build something like i told you on this thread :peepwall:

Thanks man, you ARE a legend. And yea I wouldn't have enough room for two 15's, but this setup sounds pretty awesome. Do you have any places you can recommend me to get these things? The subs, tweeters and the almani amp, I know where I can get those from. But only audio shops I know of around where I am is Strathfield which isn't really car audio, just bits and pieces, and Audiocom which isn't too bad but I've never seen powerbass there. Same with an alternator haha, not a clue where I would find a decent alternator to replace the one I have.

And thanks Alpine, I'll be sure to check it out tonight :)

Also this is the amp I have at the moment. http://www.coustic.com/products/l_1/Coustic_US_C200_4_Channel_Amplifier/listing.html Should I use that for the tweeters?

  8. Depends really mate, if the sub I have now is decent, then I'll probably get another one of the same subs to chuck in the boot with it, but if it ain't worth keeping I'll replace it with something better. The amp I have now I'll use for my speakers and I'll get another amp for the subs. I'll probably buy some Alpine R type speakers this weekend so speakers won't be a problem, and the deck I don't mind too much.

Basically I need to know if the sub I have now is worth keeping and getting another one, or if not, what a decent sub to replace it with is. Also need to know what a decent amp would be to run the subs off would be and anything else I can add to the car to make it even louder, like extra subs in the back or something.

Thanksfor the welcome too by the way, will be sure to check it all out :D

  9. Hey everyone, just here for quite a bit of advice haha. I'm new to the car audio scene but have always loved the sound and the feeling of the bass vibrating haha.

I currently have a black 2002 Mitsubishi Mirage and need some help setting up a decent system. Not for competition use, unless my budget is able to get me competition specs (Which I doubt :P). My budget is only around $2000-$2500 unfortunately. I have in my car a Kenwood BT7539U deck, a coustic 4 channel amp and a 12" kicker comp sub and box. Basically I just got these because someone told me they were decent haha, so I don't even really know the output of them. Unfortunately I only have stock speakers which are extremely annoying as hell because they crackle when they it gets loud.

I have been browsing around the forum for hours upon hours and figure you guys know what you are talking about :P, so just looking for some advice on what to either add to my system, or if it's shit what I can replace it with. Thanks for your time guys.

P.S. I am also from Australia so I don't know many American brands and don't know if I'd be able to get things sent over from America.

I can also upload any pictures if anyone needs to see the car
