  1. Make a cut or two to test it out if you can, and I would use it. Sounds like it's in great conditions. You'd know if it wasn't good any more. I've had MDF water damage and its not pretty one bit.

EDIT: Just to mention MDF price, here it's about 35 something with taxes already

35? Why so high? It's dirt cheap around here. I can get a 1 inch thick sheet for 25 bucks.

  2. hmmm thats your call... lol... was it at least under some shade? if so i would say go for it...

but at 18$ a sheet you could jus buy a new one...

If that was me and it was here... i would use it... cuz its $63.25 for MDF here...

No shade at all. Just chilling leaned up next to the barn. Water just shitting on it for days on end.

63.25 for MDF???? Where the hell do you live? The Hamptons?

  3. I bout a sheet of MDF for 18 bucks at my local lumber yard. Took it home and stored it in my Uncle's barn. A month and a half later I come back and it is sitting outside. I asked me uncle how long it has been sitting out in the rain and he said about a month. I told him that MDF doesn't hold up very well to moisture. (It was raining the past few weeks). He replied "oh bullshit, it won't hurt it any." I go and look at the MDF and it looks exactly how it did when I bought it. No swelling or anything. Is it still safe to use or should I buy a new sheet?

  4. haha you have been talking such a big game on here and you cant design a box?

Designing boxes and building them is the only thing I have yet to dive into. All my installs are clean and professional. I always have my buddy build and design but he is gone to the Navy now so I have to start doing it on my own.

  5. I need help redesigning a box. I need it to be 4.5 cubes tuned at 35hz. I had a guy design me a box that was 4.5 cubes tuned to 30hz. I only want a box for 1 driver not two like in the picture. What would I have to do to get it tuned to 35 hz?

  6. I never said Kappas were bad speakers. I OWN A PAIR. They are not 2 ohm. Like I said earlier they are closer to 3 ohm then anything. Overall they are decent for the money. I like speakers to be more on the sharper side then harsh.

  7. stop talking. the reason they make 2 ohm speakers is because the resistance of the small gauge wire and the long runs of them going to the headunit increase the resistance closer to 4 ohms. HERP DERP MAKES SENSE DOESNT IT. my infinity speakers were not even a tad harsh so i dont know what the hell you are talking about queen sick.

Infinity Kappas are not 2 ohm. I own a pair. They are not bad for the money, but there is better out there for the money. Resorting to name calling is never the answer. You fail.

Looks like I'm not the only person who feels this way.

  8. ever measure the resistance of the DMM leads?

Sure have bro. Funny that Infinity claims the Kappas are 2 ohm but on the box it also says they are 4 ohm. Typo maybe? I think not. If the Kappas were true 2 ohm speakers, the majority of head units wouldn't be able to power them. Every head unit, even my old ass Pioneer from 1912 powered my old Infinity Kappas. Since then I have moved onto bigger and better speakers, but for the money they are nice. They are on the harsh side so using your EQ is a must.
