  1. I just heard a pair of AQ HDC 10's 3-4 days ago, runnin of an AQ2200, in the back of a Mitsubishi Galant ( roughly the same size as your trunk).... HOLY $hit those little 10's were hittin a ton, I don't normally get impressed by a pair of 10's, these were in apretty good size box, with 4 5" aeroports, he said it was tuned to 27Hz, I don't know how close it really was to that, but they were getting down, and hitting like hell........ He has TL photo on his phone that said 151.6.... so I like the AQ

  2. You still might be short on airspace depending on what 18's you get.............. But thats the idea, was to start your box at the back, of the front seats, and work all the way throught the trunk........ I had two Memphis LVS 18's in my integra running off a JBL/crown A6000, and it wasn't enough car for them... we put the same stuff in my buddy's explorer, and it was almost 35db louder.......... new box+more space= better sound.....

  3. Ok, Here we go.........

A correctly tuned ported cabinet will almost always be louder, although they tend to be more difficult to build, and are typically larger than sealed cabinets..... ( Better for SPL type applications..)

However, I have heard some badass sealed cabinets, that SLAM.. And are typically more suited for SQ, and even SQL applications... I have a 15" Audiopipe in a small sealed box stuffed in the garage, just to have music in the garage when I'm working, and its very musical, but doesnt hit very hard... I have the twin to that 15 in the wifes trunk in a 3.25CuFt vent tuned to 33Hz, and it pounds ( well as hard as a POS audiopipe sub can pound).......

I cannot tell you which is better, it kinda depends on what you're looking for. Personally I like ported , and I tune a little higher for daily use, then remove that one and use a larger one for SPL... ( Borrowed the idea from SMD, saw it in one of his builds, and decided to try it out).......

    Hope that helps some.....
