  1. Price range would be 4k used, not much i know.

Im not overly worried about gas usage either.

Would something like this be alright?

    http://www.edmunds.com/pontiac/grand-prix/2000/features-specs.html?ps=used&style=13760

ALso how do u guys feel about pontiac, there seems to be quite a few on the used market at alright prices. Will it last 200k if i keep it on the up and up?

  2. EDIT: performance wise which is better?

2000 pontiac grand prix gt-Having the bigger v6 but having a tad more miles and being auto and weighing 1k more

    OR

2002 chevy cavalier ls sport being a i4 with a 5 speed man. and less miles. Minus 1k pounds.

Probaly was thinking 18-20 inch rims and low profile tires being my first mod. Next would probably be suspension (if needed not sure) then start with small engine stuff.

Second question being, would diffrent suspention and low profile tires help engine wise? Im pretty sure larger rims don't but would the liter tire (low profile) and bigger rim just equal out weight wise?

And suspension does that help the engine in anyway, do I want it as low as it can go and would it really go any lower with 19"s on? with out rub?

Last parts not quite an engine question but its performance related.

Third question, are these cars easy to work on?

    Thankyou guys a million.

  3. you can do a lot of different things with a big SUV.

if it your first system. i wouldnt go to crazy. but if you have the money, why not use it.

for the subs, try maybe some DC lvl 4 15's or lvl 4 xl's or FI's whatever you choose. if its around 1000 RMS

    wiring at knukonceptz.com

    amp- sundown saz 2500 http://www.sundownaudio.com/index.php/products/amplifiers/saz-2500d.html

    or audioque 2200 http://www.audioque.com/aq/?page_id=28

    XS power battery's

    DC Power or mechman alternator

depending on the box. i think thatll sound pretty good.

depending on how familiar you are with car audio, this isnt a huge project

x2 and I'd definitely go the used route, caco is great and so is the f/s section here.

Audioque is way cheaper than a sundown but I heard if your electric isn't the greatest than it suffers, but if your going to upgrade your alt and get some xs batteries it should be fine, not to mention you can run the a.q's at 16 volts, idk if you can do that with the sundowns.

  4. The 4 chan option u wouldnt get stereo properly because tweeters would be on left and woofers on right.

But with the stereo ud wire it like the diagrams above I believe except the channles would be ur l high and ur l low and ur r high and ur r low instead of 1/2/3/4 and 2 woofers or 2 tweeters to each. and with ur cross over u have to mind in wat ur tweeters are rated at so its not set up as sending through the full 100watts to it, idk if thats a built in feature or not, but id look at it.

  5. I'm pretty sure 200RMS would blow any tweeters he hooked up. Plus this way you need more crossovers. Get a decent 2 way crossover and it will do everything for you.

He said his tweeters were 100rms right? then 2 of them hooked up at 200rms=100rms to each, nun the less my way is confusing but works in theory, if ur amp had a million epic features wicht it probaly wont itd work just fine.

Also ull need a cross over for each channle of ur amp if ur only gona use one amp, cheapest way is to find a x with ohm matching and a 2 channle stereo/4 channle bridagble amp and run it from 2 channles instead of 4 (=2 x'es instead of 4)

  6. Yeah as person above said ur gona need some kind of matching or ur gona get under/overpowered.

EDIT: Wire two channles like this for the woofers

    http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=81#results

and wire two chanles like this for ur tweeters

    http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=42#results

EDIT 2: Ud need a amp with 4 inputs and a low and high pass, easier thing to do here is get a cross over :D
